Weather generally good but on the cool side (45-70) with San Diego a little warmer.
Crowds fairly low (except for holiday weekends. )

Anaheim gets chillier at night, but San Diego tends to not get as hot during the day. SD stays mild throughout, whereas Anaheim will be sunny and hot, but when the sun sets, you'll need a jacket/sweatshirt. I go to DLR in December and usually wear pants and short sleeves with a jacket. I could get away with capris and shorts and someone who is from somewhere cold will think it's positively hot compared to the midwest/east coast.

It sometimes rain during that month so bring a rain coat and a umbrella.

I would recommend on taking the train down because during the week is a mad house on all freeways. Amtrak, you can take the Anaheim shuttle from DL to Anaheim station on rout 15. The train will stop in San Diego Santa Fe Depot in Downtown It takes about an hour and a couple minutes.
