LAX hotel?

We wanted to fly in and out of Orange County Airport, but there weren't any frequent flier flights available, so we're using LAX. Which, I must admit, is the part of the trip that makes me most nervous -- the reputation for traffic and all that.
Our flight arrives at about 9 p.m., which will be 11 by our body clocks. We're wondering whether we should get a cheap hotel near LAX and drive to Anaheim in the morning (in daylight) or if it would be an easier drive late on a Friday night.

9pm on Friday (or 9:30ish by the time you leave LAX) should not be bad traffic wise on the freeways unless there was an accident..... so I would go straight to the hotel you will be staying near DL.....

Thanks. The AAA map arrived today. I see that LA Int'l airport is actually South of LA. DH was certain it was north and west of downtown , so I thought we'd have to drive through the city.
Added bonus: 4 nights in Anaheim may make us eligible for a promotional package.

My gut feeling is that driving to a hotel near LAX at night (especially a "cheap hotel") would be scarier than driving to Anaheim. Once you get on the freeway, the route to the Disneyland area should be fairly easy. Traffic on a Saturday morning probably wouldn't be that bad, but the drive is short enough that I agree with Kelkan you're best to get it over with Friday night.

Have a great trip,
Melissa
