I have toooooo much time to think, and then I get some crazy ideas

I just changed my trip to DL tonight... DH has always wanted to go to vegas, I went to LasVegas for a conference for work once, But DH has never been,

I cancelled our flight to CA, & Jetblue charged 100 a ticket..wahhh! and then rebooked this plan

July 2(veryyyy early) drive to JFK, find the long term parking and then fly out at 8am. ~arrive at LGB and Pick up our rental and drive to Disney's Grand Californian! woohoooo! Spend the day at the DL(its my b-day)
July 3- California adventure
July4- Fourth of july - Hang out at the Hotel
July5 Hollywood & all that touristy stuff
July6 DL again-Caty's birthday
July7 check out and drive to VEGAS!! ( I have to call DVC and see if I can use points at one of the RCI vegas resorts..
July8 do vegas stuff
July9 Turn in rental and Fly out of LAS around 11am

I was *going* to surprise DH, but I stink at keeping secrets....lol So he already knows...

Sounds like a great change in plans! Luke and I went to Las Vegas back in 1989, so I'm sure it's a totally different place now.

That sounds great!!! Ive never been to Vegas either. This year is our 20th Anniversary year so I am planning on taking DH to Vegas in September. Should be fun if I can still afford it after our Disney Cruise in April.

We just had a sudden change of plans also. I was planning on going to Disneyworld but now we are going to Disneyland. My brother in law lives in LA so we will stay with him. It sure is harder finding information on Disneyland than Disneyworld.

Generally, it's because you don't need quite as much planning for a DLR trip. Everything is really close in proximity and there are only a handful of restaurants to worry about reservations for. Aside from our meal PS, we don't plan much (of course, we go at least annually, so we are also familiar with a general "game plan").

I don't even know if you would recognize it! The only "new" hotels open in '89 (and it depends on when you traveled that year) were Mirage and Excalibur (both opened that year), which is what started the "Theme Hotel" boom.
