We get there April 1st and leave April 9th. We will be staying with family there and would like to spend a couple of days in Vegas site seeing. We don't gamble. Any suggestions on which days to go to Disney? Should we go 2 or 3 days? We want to see as much of the surrounding area as possible. Are there parades and fireworks there this time of year at Disney? I know it is their spring break weeks.
Thanks,
Mary Ann

I would plan on 2 days at DL and one at CA. Do as much as you can at DL/CA on April 1,2 and 3. Beginning on April 4 the Easter week crowds arrive. If in doubt save CA for the 4th.

I agree with Duck Addict! If your main concern is crowds, any time you have a weekday option for visiting the parks, that's always best (traditionally, Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to be the least crowded). Also, it's always helpful check the Blockout Dates on the DL site, as that usually gives a little insight into when the parks will be the most crowded. For instance, the Southern California Annual Pass is blocked-out on April 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, and the Southern California Select Annual Pass is blocked-out on April 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, so those days are more likely to be busier.

I also agree that for a first-time trip to the Disneyland Resort, two days at DL and one day at DCA is ideal. So it looks like Wednesday, April 1st, and Thursday, April 2nd would be the most optimal days to visit DL. DCA is pretty much guaranteed to be a lot less crowded than DL, so Friday, April 3rd should be fine for a visit to that park. Also, in Southern California, most schools are on Spring Break from the middle of March until about the third week of April, so due to that fact, even during the week there will most likely be fireworks at DL, and there is always at least one parade with usually both an afternoon and evening showing (even though the schedule for April is not up yet on the DL site).
