It all started with 13.1 miles....

It is all my fault. I decide to try to run a half marathon. Simple enough right? Then I found that Disney has a race every year in DLR in September and one in WDW in January. I would get to run through the park before it opens and see lots of Characters and how could I pass that by? My husband grew up in LA and he is always game for a trip back to DLR. We share a vacation beach condo just north of San Diego with his brothers so we have 4 months a year there when we can make it happen so he suggested a month long trip so I can train on the beach and end it all with the race and 5 day stay at the Grand Californian (my fav). This will also allow us lots of time to visit other san Diego area attractions with our sons. Then we decided to buy a new minivan with DVD and all the bells and whistles, so of course hubby then says "we should drive!" (Sorry he will not let me refer to him as DH) Then he says since we are driving and all, we should stop for a couple days in Las Vegas!

So now tell me how my innocent 13.1 miles turned into a 1000 mile trip with two little boys in tow and 3 days in Vegas? Funny how things go sometimes! We will have tons of fun for sure but it is kind of wild when I look back and take note of how it all escalated.

Wow, how great - your plans sound awesome. And with the half marathon.

Well we survived the drive and enjoyed the stop in Las Vegas. Now we are all settled in Oceanside by the beach and we are balancing my race training with kiddo beach time and various area park and sites. We are up for Legoland and the San Diego Zoo this coming week. Thanks for all your well wishes for the race. I need all the help I can get!
