| Car sick kiddo On our drive from Colorado to California my poor little guy (15months) got car sick and "lost his cookies" all over himself, his carseat and my purse. He was miserable for at least a couple hours before that of course. We were at the end of the day of driving through curvy mountain roads and he has to be in the backseat and his little tummy just could not take it anymore. I am all worried about our return trip and what I can do for such a little fellow. Any suggestions?

| I'm so sorry he was sick. Does he do this on shorter trips with less curvy roads? You might want to look for a straighter route if possible even if it means going out of the way. Good Luck!

| The only things I can think of are drive at night so he's sleeping or contact his dr. or even take him to a walk in clinic and see if there's anything that you can either buy otc or can be prescribed for him. Either way though I'd make sure he gets plenty of water maybe even pedialyte if he loses it repeatedly and eats the mild, bland, low fat foods that are easy on a troubled tummy. |

| I would take him to walk in clinic and get him zofram(sp?) Dr. prescribed it for DGD16 months to help with car sickness. Settles tummy without all that drowsiness like dramamine or phenergen can do.....or something with ginger in it can help too. No food or drink while traveling helps my DGD3, it comes right back up.

| I'm sorry about your little fella. Our DD throws up every time we leave Disney. No Joke! Luckily she is old enough to take Anti Nausea meds. I've read and heard that you should never give anti nausea meds to toddlers. My little one always had tummy troubles as a toddler and the Dr. said we had to tough it out and keep her hydrated. Maybe they have something new but I would stick to crackers (one at a time given sparingly) and small doses of pedialyte. |

| Ceara'e maxmaw did hit on one item that dose help car sickness AND air sickness. She mentioned something with ginger in it. This applies to all ages. As an "in it" start drinking GINGERALE and/or eating ginger snaps about two hours before your ride or flight time. Also take a can or ginger cookies with you. Eat a cookie and wash it down with gingerale. AOL Search results for gingerale and air sickness

| Follow Up on air, sea and car sickness. I just read these sites which explains the reasons for these "sicknesses" which basically says the cause is MOTION. I thought you might be interesteed in reading them. One reader made a good suggestion, if possible, travel when your child is asleep. AOL Search results for cure for car sickness Motion Sickness (Car Sick, Sea Sick, Air Sick) Causes, Symptoms, Treatment and AOL Search results for motion sickness

| Poor little guy! He may be too young for them, but I would check out Sea Bands (at your local pharmacy chain). They're inexpensive, and you just put the bands on his wrists as directed. They help my son, who always feels car sick. I've used the adult size, and they're somewhat helpful. Good luck!
