Fantasmic AP Viewing Nights

Don't know if this is fact or fiction. Saw the info on another forum. Couldn't find anything on the Disneyland website.

Apparently to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Fantasmic they will be having special AP viewings in May only.

The dates are Monday/Tuesday, May 14/15 and 21/22. It starts at 10pm and goes to 1am. You need to RSVP in person at the ticket booth, unless you live 2 or more hours away.

I will be calling tomorrow... didn't get my call picked up (on hold a long time). I will also be going down on Saturday and find out then as well as putting my RSVP for the 14th.

Can anyone confirm if this is fact or fiction?

I received an email invitation this afternoon about it. However you do have to register for it in person.

Just got off the phone with the AP CM. I didn't get any email and he said they were being sent out in batches. He also said not having the email should not be a problem. He verified my AP and all is good.

The event check in is at 12 noon. The Fantasmic showing is at 11:30pm. He suggested getting there early in the day to enjoy the park. There will be special food offerings, don't know about merchandise.

Hopefully I can get the day that I want. If not I will be happy with any date they have.

I was also dissappointed when I recieved the email that it was only on Mon and Tues. I'm a hour away but I have to be up for work at 3 am. Just to late for me to be up at the beginning of the week.

We went on Tuesday. It was really a cool event. We got our wristbands after noon at the ticket booth. They checked our passes to make sure they were valid.

Later before the event we did a couple of attractions. Went to the river around 9pm... YIKES It was already crowded. I went to the handicapped/wheelchair area. They opened that spot up at 10pm. Had a great view, even though it is more from the side. It was a standing room only crowd. I thought it would be hard getting out of the park. It was not that crowded like during a normal day. I don't know what they limited the capacity at, but it was all very orderly. Wristbands were checked. There were just a few attractions open after the Fantasmic showing. Mainly Thunder Mountain and the surrounding rides. Tomorrowland was closed when we left.

The Fantasmic show had a 5 minute waterscreen preview showing how it was made and old promo clips. After that the show started. The Fantasmic music was playing thoughout the park into Main Street. All the shops on Main Streed were closed.

No problems with trams. We really had a great time and I am glad we went. There was limited merchandise available. We got a Fantasmic 20th Anniversary Tshirt. There was also a sweatshirt. Saw Fantasmic popcorn buckets, which we got on the way out, but it didn't say 20th anniversary on it. No special pins were made.

I will try and post some pictures once I download them.
