For the life of me I can't remember what it's called. The package where you get made over as a pirate. I've searched the DLR site, but since I don't know what to call it, I can't find it! Help?!
The BBB at DL does pirate makeovers for boys, other then that I have no clue as for DL. There is also Disney 365 in DTD but I am not sure what they do for boys.
It is unfortunate for 'us boys' but it seems that 99.9% of all the 'make overs' are designed towards the girls. I can not for the life of me figure out why this is either. As you walk through any of the parks you will see, by far, more little princesses than any thing else. No Capt. Hook, no Capt'n Jack Sparrow, no Peter Pan or any other 'male' charactor for little boys. Shame on Disney.
So I called. BBB does not do pirate make overs. They do a knight package for $59.95. This includes coloured hair gel in spiked or slicked back style, sword and shield. Can book up to 60 days in advance.
I'm still really disappointed by this! Pirates are the in thing right now. DLR needs to get with it!

Studio Disney 365 only offers a "Rock Star Look" makeover for the boys for $14.95, which includes "a slick hairstyle with colored gel tips and smoky eyes", so it's comparable to the Knight's Package at BBB (which is $15.95). DL definitely needs to catch up and add the Pirates League so the boys can stop feeling so left out!

Now, when they gave me the price for the Knight Package, I thought the CM said $15.95. I thought that was too cheap, so I said back, $59.95, (saying each number individually) & the CM said yes.
Try the DL Hotel or the Grand Californian. My DH said this morning that he thought one of the hotels did something, it may be the same as the "Knights" package offered at Disney 365 and BBB.
Totally agree that DL should do a PL, they even have a perfect location right next to the Pirates ride if they change out one of the shops right there.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to look into it though if it's not pirates, my son won't be interested in it.

Thanks DopeyGirl, I say it's about time Disney does something for the boys. the girls have had something for I don't know how many years now. I just hope that "Mommy and Daddy" take advantage of this and take their boys so that Disney make keep it around longer.
Thank you for posting this! I never would have found it on my own. Gonna take full advantage of it. I wonder how far out you can book? I also wonder how far in advance CMs know, because if it's being debuted in Sept., you would think the CM I talked to asking about it would have said something.
I went back and re-read the blog. It's only available for a limited time at DLR (during the fall.) We'll be there in March. Foiled again!
I just went and re-read it and it appears that they have added that part since I posted it last night!
Last night it didn't have ANYTHING mentioned in the article about "limited time only" but said that reservations could be made starting August 7th and could be made up to 60 days in advance. The answers in the comments though (which, I admit, I didn't read past the article) mention that it is currently only scheduled to run through Halloween.
Even so, I wouldn't doubt if they extend it past the fall, but I think they would be wise to move it elsewhere, if they can. As of right now, it will be tucked way back in the Court of Angels in New Orleans Square and I really hope they wouldn't keep it there permanently and the CoA is a lovely, quiet little spot!
The Pirates League proved VERY popular at the MK when it first started so they have made it a "permanent" thing, so it wouldn't surprise me if they don't figure out a way to make it permanent at DL at some point as well. Keep your eyes and ears open to see if they do extend it!
