Yes you can order a photopass CD after you get back from your trip. It is just cheaper if you do it BEFORE your trip. Not sure the exact amounts but I think you save $20-$30 by pre-ordering the CD.
There are thousands of ppl who go to Disney every day who don't even know what photopass is until they get there and the photographers take their picture and give them a photopass card.
After you get home you can order individual pictures or you can get all your pictures on a CD.
The difference in the photopass + is with that one you get all your meal and ride photos also. Which is what sold me on it because I like buying the ride photos.

You can, but if you know before you go that you will want a Photopass CD, it is cheaper to order it BEFORE your trip.
We did this before our last trip and were glad we did -- and, knowing we had already bought the CD encouraged us to get as many pictures taken as we could; we actually had quite a bit of fun doing that !! Also, my sister had a Duffy bear that we toted around with us almost the entire time, and some of the photographers loved Duffy, so that made for some extra-special pictures, too :-)

Disney's PhotoCD
Bought before the trip: $119.95
Bought after the trip: $169.95
(Savings = $50)
Disney PhotoPass+
Bought at least 14 days before trip: $149
Otherwise: $199.95
(Savings = $50.95)
And, it is only a $30 price difference between the PhotoCd and the Photopass+, depending on your travel timeline, so that is another decision...
Does the photopass/photopass plus get you any prints , or are prints extra? It looks like there's plenty of items that you could order for extra $$ afterwards, but does the initial investment get you anything other than a cd?
you only get the cd and then you can download all the pics to your computer and get the prints any way you want. I use Shutterfly,but there are many online sites to get your pics printed or you could print them yourself(although I think that would be a lot of ink and very expensive). They give you the rights to the photos so there is no problem with another company printing them for you. If you don't get the cd and just buy the pictures from Disney it is very expensive! especially since you can add all the borders and autographs to your pics. You could have hundreds of pictures to print.
I decided to go with the photopass plus and I ordered it today. we leave 2 weeks from tomorrow so I hope the paper I have to take with me gets here in time!!!!
I've been trying to get the $119 price but I can't do it for some reason. It keeps going back to the $169 price. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I won't pay the $169 price. That's way too much.

If I remember correctly from a different forum, someone else had the same problem but it was because they had something from WDW in their account so it kept insisting on pricing it at the WDW prices. I don't know if this will help or not.
