Halloween party

Hi folks,

Looking to see if anyone has been to the Halloween party that they do at DisneyLand. We're planning our October trip but DL hasn't announced if they are going to have it. Has anyone been before?? What are you thoughts opinions. It looks like it's more towards the end of the month. Is that what is typical.

Thanks in advance

Re: Halloween party

The Halloween Party they had last year was at DCA and I believe it was the first and only party they have had. Not sure if it will be happening this year.

Disneyland doesn't really do anything for Halloween. It use to be the kids to go trick or treat on Main Street but, I'm not sure if they even still do that. The last time I went trick or treating on Main Street was way back in the 60's.

If they do the holiday overlay at the Haunted Mansion that will be the only thing going on for Halloween.

Re: Halloween party

If they have a Halloween event, they will start to sell tickets the first week of August. The last event they had in Disneyland park was 10 years ago. I was pregnant with my youngest at the time. I loved it so much I called the park every year since and have found out it is the first week of August to buy tickets if they have one. This proved true with the California Adventure park event last year. I was one of the first few that bought tickets for the event and got 6 tickets for the most popular and sought-after day of the event because I called the first week of August every day until the started to sell tickets. It wasn't the same at all as the Disneyland event but we still enjoyed it. My girls loved it because of the fact they could ride Screamin' 5 times in a row. Not to mention candy! They were the good kind too. Brand name stuff. So, read the boards at the end of July, start calling the first week of August and cross your fingers!

Re: Halloween party

Oooh! This was fun! We went to Dizzyland this last Halloween (Oct 28-30, 2005). The party was at DCA and started at around 7:30pm. We had purchased tickets at least a month in advance and got an AP discount. People of all ages were in attendance and most were in costume. The park was decorated for the event each evening it was running, closing at 5:00pm and adding pumpkins, scarecrows, spiderwebs, spooky light effects, etc. There were several events going on including trick-or-treating all over the park (fairly lame treats, just your run-o-the-mill grocery store Halloween candy), a band in Sunshine Plaza doing goofy, family friendly songs, and tables set up where hot cocoa and cider were sold. Several rides were open including Tower of Terror and California Screamin', and lines were super short. We stayed for about two hours and had a blast going on ToT a bunch of times in a row. I want to say the tickets were only about $15 so it was well worth it. Additionally the Haunted Mansion Holiday was up and running over at Disneyland during our entire stay and was absolutely fantastic!!! Overall we would rate it as one of our favorite times to go to Dizzyland and plan to do it again this year if there's any vacation money left after our WDW extravaganza!

Go! You'll love it!

Re: Halloween party

We went on October 22. They had candy like M&Ms, Sugar Babies, Snickers, 3 Muskateers and Crunch bars, Blow Pops and Dum Dums.

Re: Halloween party

Thanks folks, I definitely think we're going to try to plan the trip so we can do it. According to the All Ears site the dates for last years were late Oct so I think we'll time it for then. Of course it will be my birthday too so that will be great!!!

Re: Halloween party

Try to get a room at the GCH (or any of the 2 resorts for that matter) for the day you go to the event if you can. It is pricey but worth it to be able to change into Halloween costumes and get ready before the event and not have to deal with being in costume and get on the tram and drive back to your hotel, or take ART (especially after the quest to hit every candy station). If they do have an event this year, remember that there is no set order to hit the candy stations so start with the furthest one out and head backwards. Don't follow the crowd because you just end up standing in line for hours. Or just skip the candy and go on the rides that are open. There's nothing like your kids being dressed up as a character and going on Tower or Terror. lol! What a great photo! I had Jessie from Toy Story 2 and peasant dress Belle with a shocked look on their face. It was priceless.

Oh, and if you do stay at one of the resort hotels, don't forget to tell them it is your birthday and they will give you a birthday button!

Re: Halloween party

The other boards are showing that CMs and Annual Passholders are able to purchase tickets for the Halloween event this year. However, APs do not show Saturdays available. Hmm.

Re: Halloween party

I just called DL today. Tickets go on sale for a Halloween party at DCA on July 1. There are several dates to choose from. I didn't write them all down. The ones I wrote down are Oct. 26, 29, 30, 31. She said the rides won't be open though. I thought that a bit strange. Is that how it has been in the past?

She said booths would be set up for Trick-or-Treating. Curious to know what goes on if anyone knows.

Thanks!
