Exclamation Taking the plunge....

...and finally making our first trip to DLR! Being completely out of the DLR loop, I will probably have more than my share of ?s.

To start off, we are thinking of the very first week of June...our only other option is the end of August. Any strong suggestions either way?

I checked this years June schedule and Fantasmic wasn't running until mid-June. Is this normal or was some type of refurb going on?

TIA,

danielle

Hi!

If it were me I'd pick early June.
#1 the temp is usually in the 70s or low 80s vs 100s in August
#2 most Southern CA schools don't get out until the 2nd or 3rd week in June

not sure on Fantasmic - DD & I saw it during Spring Break 2005

I'd definitely pick June over August. Crowds should be low, and Stephanie's right about California school schedules. This year, they were doing the pirate overlay to Tom Sawyer's island (and it's completely Jack Sparrow Pirates, unless Tom and Huck took a weekend trip to the Caribbean ), and Fantasmic was dark during that time. It may not be playing every day in early June, but definitely on weekends. The only other thing to keep in mind would be grad nights. They are on Fridays in June, and close the park about 9. But, almost year round, Disneyland is open 8-midnight on Saturdays, giving you plenty of play time. Happy planning!

I'm going to pick June also, weather is not to bad, crowds should be fairly low (most of the local kids are still in school until mid to end of June. There might be some stuff down for rehab but, there is still plenty to do

I'd lean towards June - b/c I'm gonna be there in June!!!!! We are doing the DCL Mexican Cruise leaving June 15 and will probably head out to DLR on the 10th for some pre-cruise fun. Planning on staying concierge at Grand Californian. We could meet in the lounge for snacks and kabitzing

That just might work out Crystal! DS is out of school May 30th, DD June 6th...we haven't decided whether to pull DD early or not. I will keep you posted on our plans!
