We went the week of Thanksgiving (like on a Monday) 2005 and the crowds were
BAD!!!! I told my DH never again. We were visiting his parents so that was
the only time we could go. But I will say that DCA was not crowded at all
and we had tons of fun there.

***Oh and let me just add that I didn't see much Christmas stuff up.
It could've been because it was SO crowded or because I was so
frustrated, but I didn't notice any decorations.***

Yeah, the week of either holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) is really bad. But the other times are just peachy.

My buddies and I are heading to DL the last week of October. Looking so forward to NBC overlay on HM. We were at WDW last year for the reopening of their HM and can't wait to compare.

The Christmas holiday activities are scheduled to begin on Nov 21st at DL. Halloween time is scheduled to end Nov. 2, so there is some lag time in between. If you can cut it, the week right after Thanksgiving is, traditionally, one of the least busy weeks. However, since the 50th anniversary celebration, crowds have not gone back down to the pre-50th numbers...and with the opening of Toy Story Mania in Disney's California Adventure park, the crowds even in that park are higher than they've ever been. (One of my kids is a CM so I get an inside scoop on some things...there are still secrets I'm not allowed to know, though).

My personal opinion is that there's nothing like Disneyland at Christmas time...so if you can make it, do go...but do expect some crowds...though fewer in number than the days before Christmas, you can see by reading these posts that a lot of people do go during the first weeks of December.

Halloween Time is A Blast!

We always travel to Disneyland in October! It's the best time ever. The weather is perfect, not rainy and not hot. the parks are decorated wonderfully and the whole place seems to come alive! The crowds are great. Some of the shortest lines we have seen. Christmas time is packed and rides can take an hour or longer to get on.

I remember going to WDW in October of 2004 and they had wonderful set up For Halloween. At the time I went they still had the food and wine festival going from November at EPCOT's World Show Cast. When you go into the MK look for pumpkins on the proch of Main Street houses and at Mickey's fair were his house is (including Minie's house, Goofy's barn and Donal's boat house). But I think Disneyland here in ca does a better job at Halloween. But, WDW might have cought up with theirs.
Let us know when you go in 24 days wha hoo. I'll go again soon. But I sure miss being there. At less I'm going to Disneyland this October.
