Disney World Tickets at Disneyland?

I read on Mousesavers that you can use Disney World tickets at Disneyland. Anyone try this?

I have seven days left on a no-expiration Disney World parkhopper, and it would be a tremendous savings to be able to use three of them at Disneyland.

Thanks for any info!

Very interesting! I've never gotten us the no-expiration passes, but I wonder if it would be worth it for this purpose.

I suspect things happen this way (WDW passes OK, APs not OK) is that in one case, DL would collect the physical passes and could hand them over to WDW for the appropriate cash credit. The procedure for figuring out how much DL would be owed for someone using a WDW AP (or vice versa) would be a bit more complicated - would they take the price paid for the pass and divide by the number of days the pass was used by the time it expired? Would they have to agree on a number other than that (based, perhaps, on the average number of days an AP is used)? Then, there's the added plot complication that WDW APs use magnetic stripes, and DL's use bar codes - one wouldn't work in the other machine, so Guest Relations would probably have to get involved... seems like Disney would decide it was more bother than it could possibly be worth.

The only thing I'm left wondering, really, is if I can still do early entry if I use my WDW ticket while I'm staying at the Disneyland Hotel. Is the early entry tied to the hotel or to the multi-day pass?

Early entry is tied to the hotel, not the pass.

You can use WDW passes at DL, but not the other way around. You have to go to either guest relations or box office to convert your tickets. You will however lose money, since WDW passes cost more than DL passes, and you won't receive credit/cash for the price difference.

Early entry is tied in with any of the 3 resort hotels, not with any form of 'entry ticket'. We have had to show our room key to get in early plus, of course, our pass/ticket.

I did some rough math and I actually think I come out ahead - my original was a 10-day hopper, and the days toward the end don't cost nearly as much as the early ones.

We had one of our group on the big DL girls' trip in Feb. of last year trade in some unused WDW hopper days on DL tickets and she had to go to the ticket counter to trade them in.

Also, as far as early entry is concerned . . . as previously mentioned, it is tied to the hotel and not your tickets so you would be fine there. When we stayed at the DL hotel last time, they gave us a slip of paper at check in that we had to show in order to get through the turnstiles.
