Well, you have to ride the Matterhorn, cuz that's only at DL! And CA Screamin at DCA is the BEST!!!!!

We always get a park hopper when we go. Back and forth. DL is a lot smaller then WDW!! But lots of fun.

I would start with this post, a few pages back. Help Wanted: First Disneyland Visit

I would then look at the subjects on other posts. I think you will find a lot of info this way. There are a lot of rides that aren't at WDW.

It's hard to just list everything good because you can't go wrong at DL. But, if you are looking for specifics, check out the board subjects and go from there with your questions.

Are you gonna stay on property or off???

Off property I love the Candy Cane motel.

I recommend a park hopper ticket.

There are three main areas.

Disneyland

The California Adventure

And Downtown Disney.

Its all fun.

And of course Disneyland is the best.

Do get the park hopper so you can go back and forth as both parks are close together and if lines get long on one side, I will go to the other. Go see the Aladdin show at the Calif. side--- we go every time we are there. It's awesome!! The new ride in DL is the Nemo submarine so lines are long and no fastpasses The new ride at Calif. side is ToyStory Mania. Haven't been on it yet but experienced it at WDW in mid-June and it's way fun so I would try to get a fastpass for that one Have fun in sunny Calif.....

The most obvious recommendation would be to do the things that are not duplicated at WDW:
On the DL side:
The Matterhorn
The Indiana Jones Adventure
The Finding Nemo Submarine Ride

On the CA Adv Side:
California Screamin' roller coaster
Toy Story Mania (this is a brand new ride that I think is being duplicated at WDW, but that you probably have not experienced yet).

I would suggest using the FastPass system as much as you can to maximize your rides and setting Priority Seatings as much as you can. Although the parks are smaller, overall, than WDW, they (especially DL) is extremely busy virtually all year around, so if you want to eat at the nicer places, make reservations. Once you hit the marquis rides that aren't duplicated at WDW, you can hit the rest at your leisure.

The Pirate Cove (formerly known as Tom Sawyer Island) is worth a visit, but after that it's very much "been there, done that."

I would echo others here who are asking you to ask specific questions to get more specific answers.

Hope this helps!

New one comes out in October, if you can wait that long. I couldn't, as we are taking our trip in October.
