Shuttles and ART

With our last trip to DL we had a rental car and drove everyday to the parks.... This time around we are considering no rental car and using the services available. We would be in walking distance from the parks just about a mile or two away.... Is ART a good service? What other services shuttles, etc... are offered?

Some of the hotels offer a shuttle service to the parks. You can ask if they do when you book...some of them also use ART as their "shuttle service" so you'll want to make that distinction when you book also. I wouldn't say that the ART system is any better or any worse than any other in country...risks all depend on who's riding that day/time...and a ride that takes an hour on a weekday during rush hour can take 20 or 30 minutes during a weekend morning...it all depends...

I used ART a lot (from the HoJo) and found it to be reliable & there was never too much of a wait. I'd use it again. We were close enough to walk, but it was nice to have it as an option.

ART is very reliable in my opinion. Remember to buy your pass from your hotel, not the driver. Unless things have changed, if you buy from the driver it is good for one way (same price). When bought from your hotel/motel it is good for multiple trips per day.

We like using ART, but we also tend to walk to the parks (we walked from HoJo, Menage, and even from the Hilton by the convention center). The ART stop at the park entrance is very convenient - the same as the distance from the parking shuttles. So... depending on the size of your party, it may be cheaper to park or to use ART, with the convenience of driving vs. ART being similar overall.
