Where is Disney Soda Fountain located from DL?

I have seen a few people talk about this along with some yummy pictures... Where can I find this? Is it close by to DL?

Are you sure you don't mean the one they talk about at WDW in Epcot? With all the different Coke products? I don't know of one at DL.

The Disney Soda Fountain is on Hollywood Blvd. (the real one) near Highland Ave., next to Disney's El Capitan Theatre, and roughly across the street from the Kodak Theater and Mann's Chinese. If there's no traffic, it's about a 45 minute drive from DL. I wouldn't go there just for the Soda Fountain, but there's so much to do right in the neighborhood, it's definitely worth the trip.

The parking is in the building across the street...but you have to enter from either Highland or Orange...Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store usually validates your parking for a period of time if you buy something...so parking is free...if you use the lots along Hollywood Blvd. they charge anywhere from $12 on up (even if you're there for 30 minutes)

So, what is Disney's Soda Fountain? Is it an old-fashioned store where soda jerks make ice cream floats and Cherry Cokes and such? If so, that's cool!

When we went to DL last year with the whole Dgang, we did a Hollywood side trip. I was surprised the soda fountain was so small! I was expecting a much larger place. My Dgang loved shopping in their store! We were there for Ratoutille hype. It was funny watching a Big Rat walking down the street!

The key for travel is to watch rush hour. We went during an off-hour time and it took us about 45-50 minutes to get there.

Yep, yep, yep!!!

Except none of the fried foods like burgers and fries...it's sandwiches and chips or spaghetti...stuff like that.

And don't forget your lanyard and pins when you go because they not only sell Disney pins that are exclusive to the Soda Fountain and Studio Store, but cast members also trade them (same rules apply as at Disney parks).

Make sure to call ahead and check - we were at the El Cap on Wednesday the 10th to see Sleeping Beauty and went back the following night, and they've been closing the soda fountain - but keeping the store open - at 7 pm. The store is not much to write home about. The webpage made it sound like they'd have some interesting stuff, but it was mostly children's Sleeping Beauty stuff, HSM3 crap and pins. I just wanted to sit down and have a malt or some ice cream, but it wasn't in the cards.

I will say this: If you can make it, Sleeping Beauty is freaking AMAZING in there. The theatre is beautiful, and the restored version of the film - I'm 99.5% certain that it was digitial - was unreal. You'll see things you never knew were in the movie. I don't know how long it's playing, but it is well worth the price. You get a performance from the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, followed by a special appearance by Princess Aurora herself, and then the film.

As a pin trader, I love going to the DSF. Most of the pins here are Limited Editions and they always have a lot of cool ones connected to whatever movie happens to be playing next door at the El Capitan Theatre. They have yummy ice cream too!
