| Doggie help please! I am surprising my six year old daughter with a trip to Disneyland for her birthday in June- We have a house at Disney World, but she has never been to Disneyland, and I have not been since I was a little girl myself- We will be driving across country on business ,and we ALWAYS travel with our four legged family member, a German Shepherd named Jackie- He is an awesome traveler and is used to staying at fine hotels and minds his manners- he is also quite used to integrating into doggie daycare centers around the country because he is never left behind. (12,000 miles in July of 2008 by car for the three of us). ANYWAY, here is my dilemma- This is a very special trip for my daughter, and I have reservation at Disney’s Grand Californian- They of course do not allow dogs – It will be the ONLY place we stay all summer that does not allow Jackie (from 1 to 5 star hotels) and I need to find a really wonderful place for him to stay whilst we are at Disneyland- SOOOOOOOO I am asking any and all dog lovers- living in SOCAL or not- do you know any REALLY great places Jackie can stay (think Doggie resort not kennel) so I won’t worry myself sick and be able to enjoy this special trip with Ashley? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!! Last edited by DebiDebiDebi; 04-29-2009 at 08:20 PM.. |

| We boarded our dog at an Animal Inn in Chicago when we lived there...they are definitely a "pamper your 'child'" type of place. IIRC, some of the "suites" have a phone, so you can call your dog...

![]() I think these places are great. After all dogs are really just people trapped in a a body without opposable thumbs.

| I know some Petsmart stores have the doggie hotel. You might also ask your local vet or doggie resort for a recommendation. |

There's a place here in Vegas called American Cat and Dog Hotel, where we boarded Luke frequently. They have "free-range" kennels, where the dogs are in an open area (separated by large and small dogs), that has couches and the like scattered around. They even have a patch of grass in the back that gets cleaned and watered regularly for the dogs to go out on thier own. But, I don't know if they have anything like that in Anaheim - the locations we have are local only.

| I looked at Petsmart's website - the closest ones with the PetsHotel are in Long Beach and Tustin. They have a map that shows proximity to Disneyland - Long Beach isn't too far, but further than a quick jump over to see the furbaby. I think your best bet will be the Animal Inns of America, which is very close by (south on Harbor, west on Garden Grove Blvd) and prides itself on pampering the "kids".

| Ok- so Haley acutally stayed at the Animal Inn right there in Garden Grove? Were you all really really happy with them? I found mostly good reviews (and one bad review) but would trust another passporter member's opinion above others... |

I called many places before we decided on them, Asked lots of questions & they seemed like a good choice. I would use them again.. Oh and my aunt boarded her 2 Whippets there for a week when she came out here to Texas and was very pleased with them too...
