Trick or Treat Party info needed please!

I am thrilled to say that we just bought flights to experience DL in October! I have seen some vidoe on Halloween time, but never been. I love Halloween and Disneyland so the thought of combining the two has me very ! So we will be there for a Trick or Treat Party. I know that it is in DCA, is a separate ticket, that there are candy stations, and opportunities to meet characters. That is about the sum total of my info. Can someone give me more info on this? Are pretty much all the rides open or just some? Do you think it is worth the separate admit price? The hours are 6:30 to 10:30. Do they clear the park first? Can you get in before 6:30 on your special ticket? If anyone has trip reports that talk about this, let me know how to find them. Thanks!

We went last year and loved it. As far as I know, all the rides are open, although we didn't go near them, as we spent all night meeting the characters - they had a superb selection out. The park is beautifully decorated and they have a mini-parade later in the evening.

I know they do shut the park earlier in the day to clear it, but as to if you get in any earlier than 6.30, I don't know.

Here's the link to my trip report and I'm sure Sharon won't mind me posting the link to hers as well, as she was with us that night. These should take you to the right page, although you may have to scroll down to find the Trick or Treat Party segments.

DCA will close and they will clear the park and set up for the event. Adults and older kids may dress in full costume but no swords or dangerous stuff like spikes. It is recommmended for all day guests to rent a locker as they do not allow adults to wear costumes in the parks. If you are going as a cowboy then wear your jeans and shirt then later add the hat and stuff.

There is entertainment, most rides open, and the candy stations. If you parkhop then you would need your Disneyland admission and your DCA event admission to get back into DCA. I will be going the 23 with a friend. Tickets are on presale for Visa Disney card holders and AP holders. Orange Stinger will be closed. There will be a lot of walls up in the boardwalk area as they will have walls around the north area of the bay where the viewing theater will be. Everything on the west side of San Francisco to Mullholland Madness will be walled. Pizza oom mow mow may be closed and walled as well as the SS Rustworthy area. Not sure when the south side shops will be closing.,

Everything else will be wall free and open to party goers. I think the boardwalk area will be a fun maze, lol, especially at night, boo.
