| Need some advice Hello! First let me say (type) any input is helpful! I can't decide I can go with a friend in august waiting on her final ok.. she isn't sure about her vacation. If she can't go then i was going to wait and go in november for my birthday but then i would have to go alone. Soo I don't know if I should wait and go in november which seems less crowded. Oh and since this will be my first visit do I do the disney hotel or stay at a good neighbor? please any input would help I need fellow disney input lol THANKS! Beee |

| All I would say is that I'd aim for November. We've been to Disneyland when it's crowded and it was no fun. We went back last October and the parks were deserted. It was lovely, so that would get my vote. ![]()

| I recommend November as well. The crowds are great (unless you go during the Thanksgiving long weekend), and the weather is good. As for the hotels, I would say it depends on your budget. All 3 Disney Hotels can be pretty pricey as they are all deluxe accommodations whereas you can find wonderful hotels quite near the DLR property. We love Priceline for shopping for hotels, and have gotten some stellar deals using their bidding for hotels process.

| August will be crowded because all the discounts to military, southern californians, baja mexico residents, and the get 5 nights for the price of 3 nights to name a few. Good thing is you can plan the trip and do a lot early in the morning in the middle of the week. You would have a friend. November you would get $69 gift card to spend as you like in parks and maybe by then you will have a new friend or even someone from online to share your birthday. Also DCA is starting in September the Year of Walls so best to get things out of the way now. Pizza Oom Mow Mow and Rustworthy are to be turned into a grill type restaurant starting around September. The viewing area will not be open yet. Everything from west side of San Francisco to Mullholland Madness will be walled. Orange Stinger will be walled. I cannot remember when the shops on the south side are closed for retheming. DCA = Wall-E Town and you will enjoy the Year of Walls. lol January will even be worst probably. Taht is when they move the front entrance out and remove CALIFORNIA from the front entrance.

| I would stay at a DL resort if you can afford it, but they all cost a lot. There are plenty of hotel/motels on Harbor Blvd that are a nice walking distance to the Parks. I would stay offsite, and use the extra money on other things. The Segway tour at DCA is fun. As for when to go, tough call. DLR can get pretty crowded in the Summer, but are you a solo traveler, or are you better off with friends? But, it sounds like you're not even sure if your friend is a sure thing. Maybe safer to plan things out solo.

| August is VERY hot, humid and crowded. We are talking maybe over 100 degrees and line times in the hours. If you can, go for November. (The week before Thanksgiving has been good for us.) We are usually there on Sunday and leave Friday afternoon. The temp is nice, chilly in the morning, warms up during the day and chills back down in the evening. Crowds are not to bad, maybe 15-20 minutes for the E tickets rides at the peak of the day. The Christmas decorations are up and beautiful. As for accommodations, Paradise pier is nice, but a very long walks away. Same with the Disneyland hotel. They are both wonderful places o stay. That being said, we have been staying at the Best Western Park Place. (We have gone way too many times in the last year) It is right across the street. I know that all the hotels say that, but this one really is. You walk out of the park, cross the street at the cross walk veer slightly to the left and there you are. It is clean, the staff is wonderful and since I always get a room on 3rd floor no where near the elevators, it is quiet. Call and talk to Lillian at 800-854-8177 or sign up for e-ail notices at their site Plan Disneyland Vacation & Stay in Best Western Park Place Mini Suites & Hotels in Anaheim CA They usually have discounts in the fall. Also, depending on how long you are planning on being in the park, you may be able to get the Annual pass cheaper than the park hopper tickets. so check it out. Now the tough part is going alone. It can be a challenge. You can of course meet all kinds of wonderful people or not depending on your mood. Or you could make your plans and find a friend that can go with you. You just never know. Good luck

| You will have a great time in November. We were there 10/31 - 11/5. The crowds were light, they were decorating for Christmas; it was a great time to be there. Have a blast!

| I think that Disneyland is just fine to do solo. I've done it many times.

| As Cheryl said, my absolute favorite time of year to go to DL is October. Once, a few years back, we were at DCA on Halloween night. We were the absolute only family in Bugs Land. My DD and nieces were running back and forth between rides, and the CM's let them stay on for as long as they wanted. It was FABULOUS. ![]() But if you have a choice, shoot for November. As long as it isn't right near Thanksgiving! The crowds will be lighter, the weather will be gorgeous, and you will really enjoy yourself! |
