DL rides that are at WDW

I thought I remembered reading a thread on here a long time back that compared rides that were at both DL and WDW. I seem to remember reading that some of the rides were exactly the same and some were different. For example, POC at DL is better than WDW so don't miss it. Anyone remember reading anything like this or could post a link to more info? If I know the ride is exactly the same as in WDW I wouldn't do the ride.

I recall that thread too, but I don't have a link.

Based on our recent trip, here's what I do know:
The "movie"-based attractions seem identical -- that's Soarin', Star Tours, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, It's Tough to Be a Bug, MuppetVision, and Toy Story Midway Mania. The queues may be different, though. (The Soarin' queue has a nice exhibit of California aviation memorabilia and facts.)
The Haunted Mansion is slightly different, I think, but I didn't remember the latest version at WDW well enough to know for sure.
Pirates of the Carribbean is longer at Disneyland.
Space Mountain has a soundtrack at Disneyland, and I think the ride itself is different from the one at WDW.
It's a Small World at Disneyland has some new Disney characters done in the style of the original dolls.
I think Peter Pan is the same at both parks and the Winnie the Pooh and Snow White rides are slightly different. (We didn't ride any of those on our recent trip to Disneyland.)
The seating configuration on Splash Mountain is different -- I don't know about the rest of the experience.
Big Thunder Mountain is pretty much the same at both parts.

If I'm wrong about any of this, I'm sure someone will be around to correct me.

Happy planning!
Melissa

Michelle, I just bumped a thread that I think is the one you're looking for.

DH and I thought that Peter Pan was darker at DL, but it's essentially the same.
The teacups are theoretically the same ride, but it's outdoors at DL so you have to ride it in CA.
Do they have the movie overlay on IASWA at WDW or is that just at DL?
You should be able to skip Buzz Lightyear. Tower of Terror, Soarin, Turtle Talk w/Crush.
Remember that the Monorail in CA is a ride, not a form of transportation.

One I didn't see mentioned is TOT. I think the queue is different, and there are some slight differences in the attraction itself.

DLR TOT and Inoventions is nothing compared to WDW's version

We like BTMR , Fantasmic, POC, IASW, Buzz Lightyear (you can email a picture to yourself!), Tiki Room and Splash better in DLR.

The Tiki Room at DL is significantly better (IMO.) We really didn't enjoy the WDW version at all. DD will go to the DL one over and over.

I really like the special effect in the beginning at WDW when we rode it the first year it opened in DLR it didn't have any of the cool stuff (Ghosts, clock, tunnel of stars) in the beginning and the elevator only went up and down Not forwards. Did they change it?

No, they haven't changed it at DLR. You visit all the scenes by going up and down within the same lift shaft, rather than moving the ride vehicle between two different lifts, the way they do at WDW. (I'm avoiding the term "elevator," since an imagineer made it very clear to me at the attraction's grand opening that by law, it is not an elevator (it's apparently illegal in California for "elevators" to be built/behave that way).

OK that makes sense. Maybe I was just missing the wow factor of unexpectedly being pulled forward. (It was my DH's first time on TOT ever and I was waiting for the little twist.) I'll have to give it another try on our 2011 trip to DLR.
