Possible answers.....1 Summertime, Spring Break, any holiday period you would be best to book no less than 6 months ahead....2 If on property, no less than 6 months ahead, off property 2 to 4 months......3 If within walking distance, 4 months min...... These are the guide lines we use and have never been disapointed. | |

| I personally always like to book as far ahead as possible - that way, I know the bookings are made and I can relax and start planning.

| We go in December and we usually book in Feb/March, to ensure we get the hotel we want. There is a good chance that rooms will still be available at the 3 month mark (excepting for summer months), but the prices will be higher and the selection won't be as good - the closer hotels/motels fill up quicker. I guess it depends on both your mom's and your comfort level. Is cost an issue? Is location/mobility an issue? These are arguments one can use to convince someone of the necessity of booking early. However, if she can't decide when to go, then there's really no way of being able to book....hopefully, you'll be able to get her to see the light about planning early! Good luck!

| We always book as far in advanced as we can to ensure we get the dates/hotel we desire.

| I'm so excited~~I finally asked my mom to at least pick a season, spring or fall, to go, partly because I need to know how long I've got to save some more money. She picked a tentative first week of November!! So I've officially got 15 months to countdown!!

| I am planning for December 2010 and feel exactly the same way!! I want to have everything organized and make sure that I will be able to save enough so that we can do everything we want and not feel like we missed anything because of out budget This will be the 1st visit for my DH and the DS9 and DD6 I have been planning ahead for the Grandparents so that they can pick something Disney related to get the DS and DD for their xmas and bday instead of a "present" no flack from my side by my MIL is freaking that the kids will not have anything to "open" on xmas morning! I said that she can scrapbook something based on what $ she wants to contribute to their trip I said to find pictures of Goofy's Kitchen and then enclose what she wants to give then towards it My DS and DD are thrilled with gift cards from Walmart so when they see a card with MK or any other DL theme on it they are going to flip. I want to know if what you budget for a trip to DL staying off property, within walking distance (probally the Howard Johnson, 5day hopper,Universal, Sea World, flight and spending $ this would be for 2 Adults,DS10 and DD6 (by the time we go come 2010 December ) just to see if I am even close to my research. |

| My budget is going to be way off of most people's, I think, as I have to travel down to Winnipeg first. Plus I'm guessing at flight costs. I'm totally guessing at about $3200 Canadian. That's including one or two character meals, sharing a hotel room (I'm hoping for the Howard Johnson), 6 nights/7 days (sharing cost with my mom), food, tips, and souvenirs, and I still have to pay for mine and my daughter's passports, so that's in my budget as well. I don't have to pay for her flight or park hoppers, so that's good. I could be way off base. lol! But I don't want to have to go into debt for this, so I'm aiming to budget high, and maybe come home with a few dollars to start up the fund for the next trip!

| We booked 4 months ahead for our October off property (but right across the street at Desert Inn and Suites) trip. Almost all those hotels have 48 hour cancellation policies, so go ahead and make them and you can still have some flex room in your plans.
