Boooooo!!!! Have wanted to sit down and write some thoughts about our 3 days at Disneyland, but have been so exhausted since returning. I'm hoping to just jump on some threads and include our experience (as I did regarding the Ariel's WoC package), but here are just some of the highlight comments I heard from the kids (who remember only some parts of our trip 7 years ago as they were just turning 5 at the time!) or my quick two cents
**theming at Disneyland outdoes theming at WDW (according to DS), he was thrilled with BTMMR, PoC, loved Mr. Toad!
**The Disneyland Hotel was fabulous! Staff was great, loved the firewords headboards and the accompanying music as well as the fixtures in the bathroom!
**Goofy's Kitchen was by far our best sit down meal of the stay (we ate at Ariel's, Plaza Inn, and Storytellers as well....Storytellers was a very close second!---had a superb waiter!)
**Wished that the hotel guest early entrance into California Adventure was handled differently. We waiting patiently at the rope drop to head to the Pier to go to Midway Mania, but by the time we were let in, the general crowd was starting to arrive, young kids were being pushed and there was a stampede going on.
**In general, the extended magic hours for guests on property are far better at WDW...only one hour two of our 3 day stay for early entry into DL. It is wonderful to take advantage of this though, we were able to get so much in before it got crowded.
**I could have used at least another day...I was so worried about getting things in that I couldn't do at WDW and it was very crowded due to spring break...I felt rushed and did not feel like I absorbed as much "magic" as I wanted to. Between pin trading for DS, coin presses for DD and DS, enlightening our non-Disney family (who even have APs for DL....go figure!! We are making some slight changes in them!!!), seeing things the kids remembered from 7 years ago, and experiencing things we did not previously, and being in a group of 8, I felt like it was just a big blur...don't get me wrong, it was a marvelous time and we are so happy to have experienced DL again!
**On a whole, I think the CMs are less friendly/helpful in DL. It may have just been due to the high volume of crowds, or just a couple of bad experiences?
**Loved WoC.....way more than Fantasmic and Illuminations (both kids' opinion!)
**Fantasmic at WDW is a hands down better atmosphere than DL's Fantasmic
As more come to mind, I'll be sure to add them. The whole trip was a whirlwind and we experienced so many things, including things that my family has never done and they live right in So. California! It was a great Disney fix to tide us over to late April/early May of 2014 when we'll be back in the World!

That's the general concensus... CMs at DLR, unfortunately, seem much younger/less mature and less Disney friendly... we had a couple of CM drop the F-bomb REPEATEDLY while we were in line for Small World. When we complained they started using it louder... it was disappointing.

Wow! Hard to believe! (but I do believe you, of course)

I know, I didn't believe it the first couple of times they said it because it was SO UNDISNEY... they were really young - which I normally don't use to qualify behavior one way or the other because I know older adults who use it like it's nothing - but we thought they'd calm it down once they realized we could hear them, but nope. I think they were taking advantage that no one was going to hoof it to a manager because it's quite a hike to City Hall or whereever... so frustrating.

Doesn't matter if you went to City Hall that moment or later. Their names are on their badges. You know the ride and time you were there. A complaint could be filed any time.
Though, I've had less then friendly help from the CM at City Hall last time I was there.

I really think this is awful! DS has requested to go to DL/DCA for graduation in two years. I can assure you that if I pay thousands of dollars to make that trek from TN, I do not expect to hear CMs using profanity and I would find someone in authority to complain to if it did happen. It might not change anything, but at least I'd know I tried.

Oh Disney folk on the ground got an earfull... my aunt also wrote a letterr a few weeks after we came home (she was telling me about it the other day)... it's unacceptable no matter where I am. I do not like unprofessional conduct.
