Re: Whose Stayed at The Grand Californian? The Grand Californian is a lovely hotel and offers beautiful views into DCA. IMHO, it does not compare to the Grand Floridian. It has a Wilderness Lodgy feel and it is indeed a very nice place to stay. ![]() It has two full service restaurants and a snack bar. The pool is really cool and the slide comes out of a redwood stump! You can walk right into California Adventure from the hotel (of course, with a park ticket!), which is pretty cool! Have a blast!!

Re: Whose Stayed at The Grand Californian? Hi Lisa, I can't help you as the last time I was at Disneyland was in 2000 and haven't seen or been to either of the new hotels or California Adventure. I just wanted to say that my mom and I are going almost the EXACT same dates as you! We are going the 17th-20th and we're celebrating my mom's 50th birthday on the 18th! I just booked everything today in fact. We're not staying at one of the Disney resorts though while there. I've stayed on-site and off-site before, and don't really notice that much difference. We're going to stay at the Candy Cane Inn. Hope we can chat in the future about our trips!

Re: Whose Stayed at The Grand Californian? Well it's a small world after all! My actual birthday is July 4th, but my kids are in year round school. July 5th is the first day of school ![]() I'm so excited we haven't been since September of 98' when California Adventure was being built! I'd love to chat about the upcoming trip!

Re: Whose Stayed at The Grand Californian? Grand Californian is GREAT! I love it! They couldn't make it as adult like as GF because it's inside the casual DCA, but it still is superb!

Re: Whose Stayed at The Grand Californian? We stayed there on the opening weekend and thought it was very nice, and "casually upscale." Big fluffy bathrobes, spacious rooms with marble counters, high-end toiletry amenities. We had a balcony that overlooked DCA, offering us the unique experience of waving at visitors in the park! It's great for the proximity...literally a 3 minute walk from our room to the park entrance. I would say it's a mix of Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian.

Re: Whose Stayed at The Grand Californian? We stayed there two years ago and thought it was fabulous. We had a park view room, which was wonderful at night and the short walk right to the California Adventure and out to Downtown Disney was a great treat. When you go, don't forget to wander on down to the Storyteller's Cafe and snag an early morning seating for breakfast before you hit the parks the next day. We ended up eating at Storytellers for two breakfasts and two dinners on the four days we were there. That french toast was to die for ![]()

Re: Whose Stayed at The Grand Californian? I don't know about the inside of the rooms but we have been in this hotel several times. It is beautiful, old craftsmen style archetecture. The fire place in the main lobby is amazing. There are good places to eat. It has two pools. A cool entrance to DCA. If I had the $$$$ this is where I would stay. May-be some day.
