Weekend touring question

We're going to be at Disneyland over a weekend. The Saturday we'll be touring Los Angeles and Santa Monica and on the Sunday, I'm planning half a day at the parks and then maybe half a day at Long Beach or possibly one of the other beaches. My question is this - would you go to the parks first and the beaches later or vice versa?

Re: Weekend touring question

Well, it depends! So helpful, I know! You'd be able to see more attractions and probably enjoy the beach more if you did morning at DL and beach in the afternoon. On the other hand, you could start out at the beach and end up at DL and enjoy the fireworks (plan to see them at least twice!) and Fantasmic! (Fantasmic! generally only plays on weekends unless it's holiday time.) Either plan would be workable, just depends on what you want to do! Whenever we're faced with a decision like this, usually we wind up at DL all day because it's our favorite! But I understand you wanting to experience other SoCal stuff, coming from such a distance. Enjoy!

Re: Weekend touring question

I've been to the beach at Long Beach. Go to DL. Of if you love the beach, stay longer at Santa Monica-it's a much nicer area. My DD and I took one day and divided it between the two parks. We loved CA. Set up with wider paths and great rides. But, as always, whatever you decide, have fun! It's all about the fun!

Unfortunately that's not going to work - we're spending some of the day in LA and then going on to Santa Monica in the afternoon and having dinner there.

Re: Weekend touring question

I would go to the beaches first and in the early morning. They tend to get very congested on the weekends, especially in the afternoon and the traffic can be quite challenging.
