| Re: Two go wild and go west! - THREAD 5 - UPDATED 6/22! Tuesday 25 April – part one: are we ever going to see Stitch today? It was not a good start to today. We were awake early for our breakfast with Stitch at the PCH Grill, but just as we were about to head out of the door, Mark told me that he couldn’t find the autograph book. We figured he must’ve packed it last night, so we started to search for it, but we couldn’t find it anywhere. I turned the room upside down to check it wasn’t there and got him to go to Goofy’s Kitchen to ask about it, as that was the last place we had it. No joy there. At least we had put our name and address in it, so hopefully if it was handed in, we would still get it back. We decided to use my trip report book for autographs this morning, but it ended up not being needed…. We were over at Paradise Pier a couple of minutes after our Priority Seating time due to the autograph book hunt, but the wait we had was just mad. We had a look around the shop, where I got another scrapbook kit. Honestly, you have to check every shop here, as they all sell different things. Then I wandered round, getting some photos of the interior of the resort. To be honest, it didn’t do a lot for me, it just felt a bit sterile. I know a lot of people really like the resort, but I far preferred the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand California, compared to Paradise Pier. We also found it very difficult to find our way around. There just didn’t seem to be any signs anywhere. Then I sat in the lounge and did some trip report writing. By the time it got to 8.40 and we had been there for nearly half an hour, with no sign of being called, we had had enough. Never have we waited so long in all our Disney vacations and we were only a party of two. We should’ve been easy to seat for goodness sake. We went to hand back our pager, as we were starving and we thought that we would just go back to the concierge lounge for a snack breakfast, but when we handed it back and said we weren’t prepared to wait any longer, the woman just shrugged her shoulder and said “OK”. No “well let me find out how much longer your table will be” – nothing like that. Not what I expect from Disney customer service, but sadly that’s not the first time I’ve said that during our Disneyland stay. When we got back to the concierge lounge, I told them what I thought of the service at the PCH Grill and I know the woman I spoke to said she was going to call the manager to complain on our behalf. I don’t know what happened though, as she was on the phone when we left, so I couldn’t ask her what the reaction was. We grabbed some pastries and filled up and then we headed back to the room to pick up our luggage to take it down to bell services. It was then I realised that I hadn’t taken any photos of the view from this room so of course, I just had to put that right! After we dropped our luggage off, we headed towards the park. On the way, we saw new plants being put in. Just like Florida, it’s amazing to see these types of plants going into the ground at this time of the year. At home, they’d be killed off by frost! We decided to walk over, as it looked like there was a long wait for the monorail. The wait to get into the parks wasn’t as bad as the day before though and we were in within a couple of minutes, especially when a new entrance opened up with a Cast Member who was very fast. I liked her approach! We were going to catch one of the vehicles up Main Street, but they were about to go and we just missed them, so we walked up instead. Next: who said this ride is no worse than Big Thunder Mountain? |
