| Friday, February 22 - Day 8/Part 2 Now playing: Now, this is a ToonTown!! So, we landed in ToonTown well more than a year ago ![]() ![]() When we ventured in, the first thing we noticed was the backdrop to this beautiful place. I must have been too much in awe because I have absolutely no photographs of the entire layout. It was much easier to tour than the ToonTown in WDW because of the layout. It was more like a community, than an alley, but we also felt like we had just landed inside a cartoon. We knew our longest wait in this area was going to be at Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, so we went there first. We probably should have gone for the FP, but we decided on the regular queue instead to experience the themeing. The line wasn’t horrible, but longer than we thought it would be – the wait inside was deceiving from what we saw outside of the attraction. ![]() ![]() ![]() When it came time to loading the attraction, we decided that Kyle would ride alone, since neither one of us thought we would enjoy the amount of spinning he would probably do! (We were right, BTW ) Kyle went first and I totally enjoyed watching him. He was having a ball! He was moving fast, however, I did manage to get a couple of fairly decent photos – enough to show his enjoyment. ![]() ![]() Once we exited the attraction, we explored ToonTown. We especially enjoyed the gag area. ![]() ![]() Who’s the bigger kid?? ![]() ![]() ![]() The bigger kid outside the fire station. ![]() Inside the Post Office – lots of fun sound effects in there. I don’t know who was playing with the knobs faster…the kids or the bigger one! ![]() This talked or something too. Kyle was trying to see if there was something he could see in there. ![]() I never would have noticed this had a kid not run over it while we came upon it. Each time someone stepped on it, something else was said. It was pretty darn clever, not to mention funny! ![]() ![]() Please help me!! (I say let him stay! )![]() The Electric Company had a warning sign ![]() ![]() ![]() Of course, they both had to try! ![]() I really think the best part about the gag area was that when anyone messed with one of the gags, you never knew what was going to be heard. It wasn’t the same every time, which I thought made it all the more awesome. We had a lot of fun and I’m glad we took our time to take it all in. Some photos from around the area ![]() ![]() I thought of PassPorter’s very own PrincessSharon! ![]() ![]() This was the only time I got a little miffed with Jeffrey on the trip. He was complaining that I wasn’t getting in many of the photos, since the camera was always in my hand. So, when I saw this car, I was like…’Okay, take my picture in the car.’ He proceeded to get into the car and pose. Here I was finally offering to have my photo taken (not a request I usually make, but I’m trying to be better about photos thanks to the urging of my DFIL In any event, I just but you can be sure there was some kind of prank pulled on him not long after this. And, now that I’m thinking about it…I think I’ll have to do something to him again…maybe tonight even…doesn’t that sound like fun?? I LIKE it! hee hee ![]() ![]() This one cracked me up! My dad had some friends that lived in Britain for a while. When he came home, he always used to say that he had to empty the radiator, when he needed to use the bathroom. Not sure if this is a common saying over there (Cheryl?? ![]() ![]() ![]() Jeffrey & Kyle decided they wanted to take a spin on Gadgets Go Coaster. I opted to sit on a bench outside of Chip ‘n Dale’s Tree House and people watch. I don’t remember the exact reason why I didn’t ride (we’re talking 15 months ago ). I don’t think I was fearful of the ride because I’ve survived Goofy’s Barnstormer in WDW. I must have just felt like sitting and taking it all in. Maybe I was concocting something I could do to Jeffrey. ![]() ![]() When Kyle returned (Jeffrey must have been emptying his radiator), Kyle took a walk up into the Tree House and took some photos for me. Not long after that, Jeffrey joined us. We decided we needed a snack. That must have been the reason why I was sitting – I must have been tired and needed energy. Who knows? Like I said, it’s been 15 months! We stopped along the way, so I could take another photo of Jeffrey. ![]() ![]() Jeffrey got a Sprite and I got a Diet Coke. (I believe Kyle already had a drink with him that we picked up somewhere). Kyle and I got a Mickey head pretzel TOTALLY hit the spot! And, why don’t they have these in WDW?!? At least I’ve never seen them there!![]() Refreshed, we decided to head back over to Alice in Wonderland to see if it was up and running. I took a photo of the Tea Cups, which still weren’t running, along the way. ![]() Alice in Wonderland was running, so we got in line. It was a slow moving line, but we decided to stay in it since our only other plan at this point was to find a spot to view the Parade of Dreams. The ride was partially indoors and partially outdoors. I thought the card scene was the best. I attempted to take photos, but the ride moved so fast, they didn’t come out very well. I did manage to get this one from one of the outside portions of the ride. ![]() Once we were done, there was still quite a bit of time before the Parade of Dreams was to begin, but we were really hoping to snag a great spot. We worked our way down to where the parade begins and staked out a great spot on the wall across from it’s a small world. I was hoping for some great shots, as we were at the very beginning of where people were allowed to sit (other than a reserved section, where no one sat until just before the parade began and 2 people showed up). Also, no one was allowed to sit across from us, so our ‘backdrop’ for the photos, would be the construction wall for it’s a small world. We were very happy with our spot. We spread our stuff on the wall to accommodate the three of us and then Jeffrey & Kyle went to do something – bathroom or ice cream for Kyle, I think. When they were gone they noticed that the Tea Cups were running, with next to no line, so they called to tell me they would be riding before returning to me. It wasn’t long before they were back sharing their story of how Kyle spun Jeffrey as hard as he could. And, then we waited. There really weren’t many people around us. (The area actually stayed pretty empty, even when the parade started, the mob of people were closer to the walkway heading into ToonTown. They were kind of stuck there once the parade started, as the DL CMs didn’t allow guests to cross the parade route, like they allow during certain portions of parades in WDW) We waited patiently for the parade to begin… Up Next: The Parade of Dreams

| I love the shots of Toontown. It appears to be so much larger and "land" like than Mickey's Toontown Fair.

| Great update...love the pictures of Toontown, it really does look like a little community from how it is set up. I had to laugh as I was looking at all your pictures from Toontown and in at least 2 pictures of Jeffrey he has a little girl posing with him...it was pretty cute, wonder if they even realized that they looked like they were posing with him Can't wait to hear all about the parade.

| I thought at WDW it was Mickey's country fair with Minnie's and Mickey's house, with goofy and Donald duck living across the way, including the train station. (yes I have photographic memory) It just a small area. I was surprise with all the land they have out there. At DL it a whole town and DL do not have a lot of room to build any more it just strange. My little cousin loved it when they were there and I was with them this is after you had been there.

| I've heard that "drain the radiator" comment around some of the "sleazier" truck stops in the country and in Canada... maybe we can blame it on the Canadians, eh? I've never used it, though! Great update!
