| Whale Watching in San Diego I will be San Diego in February and want to take a whale watching tour. Any advice on which company to use? I want this to be a great experience. Here are some I am considering: San Diego Harbor Excursion H&M Landing Hornblower Cruises Thanks!

| I have never done the whale watching tours, but have been on both the SD Harbor Excursion and Hornblower harbor cruises. I would recommend both. ![]()

| While I have not been whale watching in San Diego - I am familiar with some of the aquariums and educational programs in the area - this one is linked to the Birch Aquarium - San Diego Harbor Excursion - Whale Watching

| I live in San Diego and took my family on Hornblower's Whale & Dolphin Watching Adventure when they were in town to visit last year. We had a great time on the morning cruise that left at 9:30 a.m. (they have an afternoon cruise too, i think at 1:30 p.m.) and were out for 3 1/2 hours. We saw Gray Whales (moms and babies, mostly) and a huge pod of dolphins followed the boat for a while, jumping and playing! The capitan was really good at spotting the whales and there were also representatives from the San Diego Natural History Museum that answered questions and gave talks and demonstrations. The boat also had a exhibit on baord with whale fossils and information about of the different kinds of marine life that we saw. My 10 year old brother REALLY enjoyed learning about the whales and then seeing them in real life! He even got an "I saw a whale" sticker. Since we went on a weekend, we booked our reservations online a head of time. It was a good thing too, because the boat was full of people excited to see whales! I would definitely suggest doing the same. I got our tickets here: Hornblower San Diego's Whale & Dolphin Watching Adventure The boat was great, the sights were amazing and we all had a blast! |
