| I've been to the San Diego Zoo before (in 91) but never the Wild Animal Park. Can anyone tell me more about it? Is it worth going to? What is it like? We are going to be in So. Cal 2 days before we start our DL vacation and I'm trying to figure out what to do. |

| We LOVE the wild animal park!!! It's really is like walking through a huge park where the animals can roam. We spent an entire day there and didn't see everything. The one thing to keep in mind is that it is very big and requires a lot of walking. They have trams to ride and watch the animals (DD loved this). They also have feeding areas for different creatures. It's not like a zoo in the sense that you walk up to a cage and there's an animal and then you move on to the next.

| I have never been there, Just to the zoo. But from looking at their web page it looks like a blast! They have "Dino Mountain" through Sept 7 , that looks really cool too!

| Meh. I wasn't in love with it and only felt it was worth it because we paid extra for the photo caravan tour inside the paddock. I prefer the zoo and SeaWorld for my jaunts to San Diego.

| We haven't been in a long time. I want to say around 2000. I know at that time we really prefered it to the zoo. The zoo seemed like a lot of walking around up and downhill with my kids who were fairly young at that time. At the Wild Animal Park we saw fighting rhinos, and lots of other animals roaming around in a natural-like setting. Reminds me of the savannahs at AK and AKL. We're thinking about a San Diego trip, and can't decide either though. ![]()

| Keep in mind that, as listed, this is a wild animal park in that the main park dose NOT have cages to seperate the animals. It is like being in wild Africa where a lot of the animals roam together and live together. You ride the tram through this section which consists of many acres. Overall this section is fenced to prevent the animals from getting out. There are other smaller open cages that are fenced for individual animals and birds.

| I can't wait to hear which you decide to do. I debated the two, too, and decided on the zoo.
