| La Brea Tar Pits Most people living outside of southern California are not aware that the famous La Brea Tar Pits and the Page Museum are actually in mid-town Los Angeles. Actually at 5801 Wilshire Blvd. If you are interested in fossils this is the most famous fossil localities. At this site fossils are dug from the tar, cleaned, catalog, assembled and literally everything to do with fossils. You can watch the staff and the volunteers in action from behind glass. I thought I would mention this tourist attraction as it is not mentioned on a regular basis and it is within a few miles of Hollywood and Universal Studios. Page Museum - La Brea Tar Pits
