I was looking at information on El Capitan and the Hollywood Renaissance area where I'll be staying for the first part of an Adventures by Disney tour this summer and came across an announcement of a character breakfast at the Disney Soda Shop. They'll be doing this breakfast until Mid-August. It's $25 per person (no lower price for kids!) and includes fruit, yogurt, Mickey waffles, eggs and bacon or sausage. Merida comes to the tables for a meet-and-greet. It's weekends only. I'm going to meet Jeannie (Dlandmom2) and her kids there for breakfast in July!
Well, as it turns out, we're not going to the breakfast! The movie is included in the breakfast package, which makes sense and would be fun, but Jeannie and I decided that we really didn't want to spend our limited time together sitting in a movie theater. So instead, we're meeting in the morning at Graumann's theater to see the sidewalk prints and then we'll have an early lunch at the Soda Shop! I'm looking forward to meeting up with Jeannie and her kids and will probably get to meet Merida later in the parks.
You will enjoy seeing all the foot & hand prints. I grew up in Southern California & have lots of memories of Hollywood & "The Strip" in the good old days when it was safe, fun & full of celebs hanging out..

When I first booked this trip I wasn't that excited about the "Hollywood" part of it, but I'm really into it now and can't wait.
I think we'll be doing Hollywood as part of out trip next year. When we visit CA it's always Disney. Nothing wrong with that, but I'd like the kids to know CA is more than Disney. The teenager is excited to go to Studio City. The five year old doesn't care either way.
