I passed the idea onto hubby. Surprisingly, he's for it. So, it looks like our Disney/Vegas vacation might be ended by a visit to Universal. It's been close to 30 yrs since I've been to Universal Studios. Hubby and kids have never been. I'm confused by the tickets. Granted, it looks like it is too early to purchase, but what's the difference between VIP & Front of the Line? Are these selections likely to be available in March 2013?
Also, what's a good hotel in the area? Not looking for expensive, but clean.
I believe Front of the Line is an all day fastpass, but I believe it's only good once on each ride per day...not positive, but I heard some people talking about it when I was there a few weeks ago.
VIP tacks on a more personalized tour of the parks (I believe you see more of the parks than just the regular tram tour).
I'm glad you're going to visit Universal. I don't think I could go all the time, but it's a lot of fun to see how things have changed if you haven't been back for a long time.

Thanks for the info!
My husband found out that Costco sells 3 day park hopper tickets, 1 day Sea World and 1 day Universal for about the same price as just the park hopper tickets. Of course, you have to use them by the end of the year, so we'll have to wait until Jan. to see what Costco offers.
Usually with front of line you have two options the base one which means you get front of line access once per ride and an enhanced once called unlimited where you get front of line access as many times as you like. the Hilton Universal Citywalk looks fab and is in our plans for our next California holiday
Check their website to see when their offer for buy one day get the rest of the year free to see when the offer expires.
Also available from Arrowhead drinking water one (1) pint size drinking water is a $15.00 off genral admission coupon attached to each bottle and is valid until Mar. 31. 2013.
Last year Arrowhead confused many by stating on this similiar coupon that it was for Universal Studios Hollywood but gave the telephone number for U.S. in Orlando.
This offer this time corrected the wording ond confusion to definitely say , on the coupon, Universal Studios Hollywood "The entertainmnt Capital of L.A." L.A. meaning Los Angeles and not standing for Louisiana.
In this case of U.S. and L.A. are the same place.
Lilianna if you are still in Canada and need a couple of these labels send a PM with your address.
For other whom need these labels PM me with your address.
For both let me know how many you will need for your party as the coupon doesn't mention how many in a party can use the coupon. For safety I wil mail a coupon for each member.
Thanks for the information! I do believe we are going to go with a Southern CA city pass that sells at Costco.ca. You get a 3-day park hopper, 1 day at Sea World and 1 day at Universal all for the price of a 3-day park hopper. (Maybe even cheaper-have to check the price again.) I believe I mentioned this deal in a post above, so I'm just repeating myself. It seems to be the best deal for us.
