Universal Hollywood.............

I was looking at the City pass tickets. With them you get one day at Universal Hollywood. Anybody been there lately and could enlighten me with what is there that is a must-see?? Any tips or ideas for visiting this park.

Re: Universal Hollywood.............

I went to USH last year. Unlike USF, USH is more of a movie studio that happens to be a theme park. The big rides there are Jurassic Park River Adventure (better than the Florida version) and Revenge of the Mummy (inferior to the Florida version). The highlight is the 45 minute tram ride through the back studios.

If you go, consider taking the VIP tour. Not only will you get VIP treatment at the rides, your tram tour is about twice as long as the regular. You get to walk around many backstage areas.

Here's a video of USH that I filmed and edited. It's in .wmv format:

Re: Universal Hollywood.............

We were there in May of this year. I loved CityWalk; plenty of good shopping, eateries, and this is where we lined up for the Red Carpet Event: The Premiere of "Cinderella Man". We saw a lot of celebs, including Russell Crow, Ron Howard, Matthew Perry. (I would highly recommend checking to see what events may be happening durring your visit, so as not to miss something great!). We enjoyed the studio tour (the set from War of the Worlds was AMAZING!), Jurrasic Park, Revenge of the Mummy, Shrek 4-D...we had a lot of fun at this theme park!

You really should go if you're out here. I looove US, but I am such a nut for backstage stuff (Disney-MGM is a favorite, too) While I was there last year, they were filming one of the POTC movies. You really never know who is around the backlot, especially if you go on a weekday. Stars have been known to get on the tram...
