Disneyland Hotel - review Having now got caught up from our vacation, I thought I'd post a few thoughts about our stay at the Disneyland Hotel. If there's anything else you'd like to know, then please ask away. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos re-sized from that part of the trip yet, so I can only describe the resort. I will admit I was apprehensive about staying here. We really wanted the Grand Californian, but couldn't get any availability for two of the four nights we were there, so we went with the Disneyland Hotel. For the first two nights, we stayed in a premium view room in the main tower (I forget the name now ) that has the lobby and reception in it. We had a view of the swimming pool and off to the left, we could see Downtown Disney. For the last two nights, we were in concierge in the Sierra Tower, again with a view of the pool, but of course with the option of using the concierge lounge, which has great views of Remember. We loved the theming of this resort - it's just so Disney and WDW could really benefit from somewhere like this. The moment you arrive, there are Disney elements everywhere, from the Mickey and Minnie bronze statues in the lobby to the decor in your room. We loved the Mickey Mouse hands holding the lights in the bathroom and even the sink unit had one of the seven dwarfs engraved on it. The bedding has images of famous rides, including the Jungle Cruise, the Tea Cups, Dumbo and Main Street USA. The rooms were fairly big - I felt they were bigger than the ones we've had in our recent stays at the Beach Club Villas, but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me. There's also a sofa, a couple of tables and a high speed internet cable, which was free to use. Interestingly, because we paid for our stay using DVC points, we never had to pay a resort fee, which was a nice surprise. As for the amenities, we were disappointed by the shops. Having looked round the ones at the Grand Californian, which had hotel merchandise, we wanted to buy some Disneyland Hotel items at our shop and there wasn't anything. The main swimming area looked like a lot of fun, although was always very busy when we were there. A lovely touch was the appearance of Tinkerbell in it every night. We did spend some time by one of the quieter pools and this was a very nice area to relax. The grounds are beautiful - don't miss the waterfall at the south end of the complex and definitely allow some time to just wander around. All in all, we had a great time here and I can thoroughly recommend the Disneyland Hotel to anyone who's planning a Disneyland trip in the future.

Re: Disneyland Hotel - review Cheryl, How was the concierge level? I'm still trying to decide if DH and I should stay there vs GC. It sounds like you were in the Marina Tower the first 2 nights.

Re: Disneyland Hotel - review was the extra price worth it too? Do you think you saved any money inregards to food? That would be my main reason for doing conceirge.

Re: Disneyland Hotel - review Thank you soo much for this review. You have put my mind at ease about staying there when we go in October. We'll go ahead and book our stay this week. We will also be using points so that's good to know about the resort fee
