Re: which hotel??? Is the company paying? Then I would choose GC, as it is pretty expensive, and that would be a great way to stay in a place you might not normally get to. Otherwise, we've stayed at PP before and it was nice. Belinda

| Re: which hotel??? Grand Californian if that is an option! Here are my reasons: 1. It is the best hotel in the area! 2. It really wouldn't be a bad walk for your DH to get to the Convention Center. 3. If it were me, I would rather be the one walking around Anaheim alone than have my DW walking from say the Marriott. If you stay at the GC, you will not have to leave the DL Resort, and that should be much safer than having you walk alone. 4. I LOVE THE GRAND CALIFORNIAN!!!! | Re: which hotel??? Another vote for the Grand Californian. We loved staying there in January, it was so convenient to everything. |

Re: which hotel??? Thanks all but please more opinions but as of right now I am putting the Grand Californian down as #1 choice and I'm not worried about hubby walking b/c I think they have a shuttle service with the conference and yes the company is paying!!!!! All we have to pay for is my airfare and tickets to Disneyland!!!! We get 6 choices for the hotel so all the Disney owned hotels are choices so I think I will put those first and then what??? I've heard the Candy Cane Inn mentioned in some trip reports and its a choice as well? Thanks for the link DebiDebi and all the other replies

Re: which hotel??? I like your decision so far - Grand Californian first and then the other DL resorts. I have only been to DL once and stay at GCH so I'm not much help. I will say, though, if I would have had to choose a place outside of the DL ones, I would have tried the Candy Cane Inn. I liked Tina's TRs about the place. What a nice trip for work! And great of DH to take you along! Have a great time!

Re: which hotel??? If money is not a factor go with the Grand it has everything. My second choice would be the Paradise Pier Hotel. Reasons are: the rooms are more spacious, room with a park view is awesome, housekeeping is awesome, service is awesome, the pool is the price is reasonable. My third choice would be the Disneyland Hotel if you want the ultimate Disney theming. Off sites are not an option for me anymore, been there, done that, won't do it again.

Re: which hotel??? [ QUOTE ] 1. Grand Californian Hotel 2. Disneyland Hotel 3. Paradise Pier Hotel 4. Candy Cane Inn 5. Carousel Inn [/ QUOTE ] I'd second Tina's list except I've never stayed at #5, so I can't comment on it.

Re: which hotel??? We just faced this dilemma a while back when choosing a hotel for our July vacation. We ended up going with the Disneyland Hotel because it seemed the most "Disneyfied" to us with a lot of Disney touches that aren't seen at any of the hotels at WDW. Much as the Grand Californian also looked lovely, it did seem to be quite similar to the Wilderness Lodge in a lot of ways (which we love as well but we wanted to experience something truly unique not to be found at WDW). I'll let you know if I still feel the same way after we get back from our trip. Joy
