| Shell Vacations Club at Peacock Suites Resort My aunt just gave us 75,000 points to use, so I'm beginning to explore our options and seriously considering a trip to DLR for a week. Does anyone know anything about Shell Vacations Club at Peacock Suites Resort? The timeshare website states that it is located 2 blocks from DL. So, the location sounds good, but that's about all I know. Thanks for the help! |

| You're better off staying at the Red Roof Inn. The decor is not at all like the resorts Shell Vacations shows to get people to buy into their time shares. The room we stayed in was dark and had a musty smell. I was sooooo disappointed as the Peacock was one of the things that sold me on the Shell Vacations package. It is also more than 2 blocks away...maybe it's 2 blocks by flying. I think the 2 blocks is more like 2 blocks from the farthest eastern border of any piece of Disney owned property. There are few self parking spaces, they charge you to valet park (even when the self parking is full) and then they charge you $12 per person per day for their shuttle service. I would not recommend this resort to anybody...and because I felt like Shell Vacations misrepresented it, I don't recommend them to anybody either. During my presentation they said it was "right across the street from Disneyland" HA! The Peacock also advertises itself as "Anaheim's Most Beautiful". I'll argue against that until the day I die...or they totally refurbish the place! You have a lot of points to use, just be aware that Shell Vacations lets you book 2 reservations for free. After that they charge you. So plan wisely. Although I haven't stayed at their resort in Carlsbad, I did hear that it's a much nicer resort, more like the ones they advertise. It'd probably be a nicer stay, though there is a drive. On the other hand, if you're spending most of your time in the parks and basically use your room just to sleep in, it is a place to lay your head at night. Just be prepared to either pay for valet or park at the Red Roof Inn then walk to your room from there. (You have to get a pass from Red Roof to use their parking lot). |

| Thanks for the info! After weighing our options between Peacock Suites and Dolphin's Cove, we decided to use the points at Dolphin's Cove. We'll see how it goes! Thanks!
