| Grand California theme park view room What exactly is the theme park view like at the Grand California? Can anyone either describe it or, even better, does anyone have any photos of it? I want to see whether it's worth spending the extra money to have a theme park view. I don't mind doing it, providing it's a pretty good view!

| If you PM me your email address I would be happy to give you a link to my latest DL trip pictures which has pictures of the Theme Park View. (I still don't know how to post pictures or I would do that.) Our view was of Grizzly Rapid Run and it was great. It was so nice to sit out there watch everyone walking through DCA. Such a different experience from anything you can experience at WDW.

| Just be careful about the Theme Park View at the Grand California. The first time I got the theme park view it was mostly a view of the Parking lot with a slight view of the Paradise Pier area of DCA. I didn't like the view, so we asked to be moved. We were moved to a non-theme park view which had a view of the Pool and a great view of Paradise Pier. I was told by the front desk person that the best way to a great theme park view is to request a room specifically when you make your reservations, even though they can't guarantee your choice, you will have a better chance of getting a good room. On our next trip, I asked for a Downtown Disney View and was upgraded to a wonderful Theme Park view. So you never know.

| The view I saw the last trip was awsome. It was also at night time so DCA was all lit up. The Mandara Spa at the Grand was going through rehab, they were in a suite that was huge and also was directly above the main swimming pool. As you would look staight over the balcony you had a perfect view of Grizzly Run and Paradise Pier slightly to the right off in the background. If I had known ahead of time what I was going to see I would have certainly taken my camera. Also a trip to the spa is a must at the DLR.

| Thanks - I hadn't thought of that. Is there any information about the spa anywhere online?

| Cheryl, I would also recommend a Downtown Disney view. Dawn, Tina and Janine had a theme park view and it was pretty cool. But, Sharon, Karen and I had a Downtown Disney view -- from a room right above the WOD sign. We could see the Disneyland hotel on one side and Space Mountain and the Train Station of the Magic Kingdom on the other. Sitting out there, eating chips and drinking margaritas while the sun set (gilding everything in a golden glow) was the best memory of a spectacular trip! Just another option! Eileen

| Cheryl, I have to agree with Eileen. Although our room view as pretty neat, I would have been just as happy with the view Eileen, Karen and Sharon had of Downtown Disney. Our view was of GRR and it was pretty disappointing that it was closed the first 4 days of our stay, so all we saw was a drained ride. We could also see the Soarin' building and Tower of Terror. I will be posting pictures of the view pretty soon in someone's TR If we were to ever stay at GCH again, I would go for a DD view (maybe even request the specific room E,K and Sh had)
