| Hotels in SD First off, have fun on your trip... Second, as far as hotels go, do you want to be near the beach? SeaWorld? The Zoo? Shopping? Dining? Are you driving in or flying in? Renting a car? I would say avoid the beach hotels, they are expensive and hard to get around, although the Del Coronado is fun to drive over and see for a few hours. Before we moved to San Diego, we would always stay in the Sheraton Mission Valley. It always seems to be reasonably priced and is convenient to the freeways, the Zoo and SeaWorld. Other Hotels on Hotel Circle would be good choices for similar convenience. Also, have you checked out VRBO.com? It is a site where owners rent out their condos, homes etc. You can sometimes get great deals here. Let me know some specifics and I'll point you in the right direction.

| Every trip back to San Diego since we moved away Last time I was in town I stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown on Pacific Highway. It isn't in too bad a location, easy access to the freeway and right in front of a trolley station. It is also near the USS Midway, Star of India, Maritime Museum and about a mile from the airport. As I remember, we only paid $100/night for the room, and considering the location and the partial from our room (request a room on the front of the building

| The plan at this time is to fly into San Diego. Will have to rent a car. Plans are to do Seaworld, the Zoo, the Seal or harbour tour. The Midway ship tour. I was thinking the beach for part of a day. Then we will travel up to Anaheim & spend the rest of the trip at Disneyland. So I think a hotel near Seaworld area would be good. thanks for the suggestions. I am so used to planning Disneyworld trips & know that so well. THis is a bit tougher to choose.

| The Dana Incredibly close to SeaWorld, great grounds, on the marina, places to eat, etc. We love it.

| There is also a newer Holiday Inn near Sea World that is supposed to be very nice. My parents will actually be staying there for a few days starting this coming Wednesday (they're at Disneyland right now ), so I will get some info on it from them!

| We stayed at the Holiday Inn in La Jolla when we went to San Diego two years ago. I CANNOT recommend that hotel! It was a total dump back then (although I think it was being renovated shortly after we left). We did like La Jolla, though! Nice and quiet, pretty beaches

| i used travelaxe.com to find my place. forgot what it was, but it was on the water i think, not that expensive (under $50?) and since i was using mass transit to get everywhere it actually was right near one of the major hubs. but travelaxe will let you sort by distance based on places like proximity to sea world, etc

| My son and DSIL are going for a trip this June. Doing Disneyland/DCA for 3 days and then a day for Legoland and the Zoo in San Diego. Any hotel recommendations for these? Are they even close? Anything that might take Hilton points?
