Red face Hotel or Motel for 6

We will be planning a trip to DL and I need to find accommodations for my hubby and myself and 4 grandkids. I can't for the life of me remember the place we stayed at the last trip with the first 4 grandkids (in 2002). It had 3 beds, sorta dumpy-but clean and safe, and close, with a nice restaurant directly across the street, ( no chain as I recall). I'd like to find something not expensive! Any ideas?

Debbie just posted a thread that has Bret's Disneyland Map. It has lots of info on hotels/motels and restuarants.

Thanks, I have checked that and it shows no motel or hotel across the street from Carrows Restaurant. I was hoping someone know that area really well!

The address for the closest Carrows restuarant to Disneyland is 915 S. Harbor Blvd. Its about 1.3 miles north of Disneyland. I would try one of the motels right across the street from DL on Harbor. Their rates are usually affordable.

Try the Desert inn and Suites. Get a C1 or C2 Family Suite with 4 Q's and 2 Baths. Directly across the street with both Denny's and I Hop steps away. Love it

We are planning our first stay at Embassy Suites. We have only ever stayed at the one in San Diego, and we loved it. I have heard lots of great things and lots of great reviews on tripadvisor about the ES Anaheim south. Bonus is the free full breakfast! The ART shuttle is very convenient for getting back and forth, and some hotels have dedicated or contracted shuttles.
Many hotels have suites available, and many are all suites in the area.

IMHO, The BEST non Disney hotel near Disneyland is the Coast Anaheim hotel. ( Now titeled the Sheraton Park i believe)It is literally right besides California Adventure. We could EASILY watch the eveining fireworks at D.land. The cost, No more than 100.00 per night MOST nights i believe.

I miss Coast hotel so much! We could often get great deals there less than 100 a night, too. We loved the park view upper floors best, too. The grounds were intimate yet all the comforts of a big hotel! We got a feeling like being at a WDW resort when we were relaxing by the pool with lunch from the pool bar! And a real coffee bar in the lobby was awesome! Now that it is a Sheraton, we haven't been. The rates are almost the same as a Disney hotel now.
