| Embassy Suites South We have just made a reservation here for NYE weekend. While there are five of us and we could fit into a regular hotel room, we thought the space and free full breakfast would be nice. Has anyone stayed here before? I'm a little anxious staying at a new place. We usually stay at the OC Hyatt Regency, the Hilton or Disneyland Hotel. Any input would be much appreciated! |

| I stayed there in April and thought it was great. The rooms are nicely furhished, and being able to close a bedroom door so some can nap and sleep while others are still awake is wonderful. They have the big dramatic lobby that Embassy Suites are known for, but more whimsical touches with a safari theme. There's even a life-size animatronic lion that loudly roars his greeting every so often. Definitely feels like Disney magic! The breakfasts are yummy, but even better (in my mind) is the free happy hours in the afternoon with cocktails and snacks. Nothing better than a cocktail and a soak in the hot tub after a long day in the parks!

| Last year they stopped selling ticket about 11:00 and they recommended that all guest get their hand stamped at either Disneyland or California Adventure. My wife and I didn't and we feared we wouldn't get back in as we went back to Disneyland Hotel to rest a spell. We found out however that Resort guests and AP holders would not be turned away. Lucky for us, we were both. What ever you do, about 9:30 pm or 10 at the lastest, find a spot you want to be at come midnight and STAY THERE or atleast have a member of your party try to hold your spot. It can and will be REALLY crowded. |

| Thanks, for the heads up! We usually plan on staying all day when we go on NYE. We have yet to make it to the hub anytime well before midnight, because we are easily lured by the walk-on rides! This year, I was planning on staking out a spot around 10 in the hub. Maybe I'll go a little earlier. If I bring a thermos, think they'll fill it with hot cocoa? We are so excited about our stay at Embassy Suites! I priced the package at the Disneyland Hotel, the only way to get a DLH room, right now, and it was $500 more than what we are paying for tickets on base and the Embassy Suites room. For $500, I could go a little crazy in the Christmas decoration store and get stuff for a Disney tree next year! |

| Our stay at DLH is covered by the DVC so the out of pocket cost is zero, in so many words. hahaha. We are both handicapped and for me to do either or both parks, I must resort to using my own ECV. It can be a bit hard to travel thru the NYE crowds by they seem to step aside for the most part. |

| For years I would fly down from San Francisco and stay at the Embassy Suites near the OC airport and loved it!! I'm a big fan of Embassy Suites - it's a great place to bring a group. Have a fabulous time!

| Question... if you stay here I'm assuming it is too far to walk. Do you drive yourself (rental car) or take a shuttle? Is the shuttle convenient?

| I could not find any reference to a shuttle at this hotel...you might want to give them a call and see if there is one available.

| There's an ART stop directly in front of the hotel, so it's part of that system. The hotel used to have their own shuttle, but in an attempt to reduce congestion the city of Anaheim is severely limiting private hotel shuttles. For ART, I think it costs like $10 for a week if you buy the passes versus $3 each way if you buy onboard the tram. There's a kiosk to buy passes in the lobby, or you can buy them in advance on the web and they will deliver to the hotel. (Not sure if there is a savings for this.) The shuttles leave every 20 minutes and get to the Disneyland Resort in about 5-10 minutes. It's pretty easy and super convenient, and considering it costs $11 to park, it's quite a deal. You could walk it, but I think it would be about 30 minutes.
