Tell me about the Disneyland Hotel

We are planning a trip to Disneyland this summer and I'm trying to decide wether to splurge for the Disneyland hotel (concierge level) or to just stay at the Embassy South. With three kids we love any Embassy. this year we are celebrating our 20th Anniversay. But we are also going to try to take my parents to WDW late in the year to celebrate our 20th and their 50th Anniversary. They have never been and we want to do it right. We plan to stay at WL on concierge level. So I don't know if we should take the cheaper route at DL.

We really enjoyed the concierge level at the Disneyland Hotel when we stayed there in 2006. What clinched it for us was that you could view the fireworks from the park from the concierge lounge - that was such a treat and it was lovely to have such a different perspective. I say go for it. We weren't sure about going concierge there, but we loved it.

I think we started our on sight stays the wrong way. Our first on site WDW was 06 we did concierge and again in 07. Now we don't want to stay without it. We have never stayed on site at DL. We have always had family live close by until last fall. My DH's first visit to DL was early 70's and he has always wanted to stay @ the Disneyland Hotel. Glad to hear you like it. It makes it easier to decide.

Go for it! We stay at DL or DGC hotel. We go 4 times a year. We love the convienience of being so close to the parks. We feel we are "home". We have stayed on the CL many times but just as many times in just the regular rooms. You will love being so close!

Stay at one of the DL Resort Hotels - the experience will be worth it! The Disneyland Hotel has the most "Disney" feel to it, with lots of touches everywhere to make you smile. My family and I can't seem to go back to an off resort property now that we've stayed at both Paradise Pier and the Disneyland Hotel. We'd rather wait and save - and are doing so now - than go back to even a very nice off-resort property.

Have fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Disneyland Hotel. The nostalgia and memorabilia around the resort cannot be beat. And its Neverland themed pool is a lot of fun. It also doesn't hurt to be such a short distance from the monorail stop. All in all, I think a stay here is hard to beat.

The Disneyland Hotel is my definate favorite, being the nostalgia freak that i am. The pool is the biggest perk for me with its peter pan theme and water slide. I was disappointed however they took out the monorail. That was one of the biggest conveiniences for staying there, hop on and go directly to the park. Now you have to walk through downtown disney. i know some would say its still very close, but i guess i was spoiled with the monorail. I do think onsite ALWAYS adds to the magic of your vacation. My next trip I plan to stay at the Grand. The views from your rooms are SO awesome! have a great vacation and congratulations
