| Not sure what you are looking for. Does it depend on the number of points you will use or are you looking for the best resort for your son? GC, of course, is the deluxe resort which doesn't have any "resort grounds", but you can step right out into DCA or DTD. Great atmosphere, restaurants, and pool. DLH has a fun pool area, great restaurants, grounds to explore, and a large gift shop. PP is self-contained with a roof-top pool, no grounds, the least expensive, but not shabby in the least.

| If you go to Disneyland Resort - Detecting Browser Properties . . . and take the virtual tour of each resort, you can get a good feel for the hotels and what they have to offer. No matter which one you chose, you are still immersed in the Disney magic. All are within walking distance of each other and the parks.

| We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in 2006 on our points and loved it - we felt that it was pretty good value for money. When we go back in October, we're using our points again - this time to stay in the Grand Californian, which has some wonderful theming. Think of the Wilderness Lodge and you get the idea. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

| I will be staying on points at GCH in a couple of weeks. I have a standard view (translation: cheapest) for 2/23 check in - 2/27 check out. This means a Saturday stay along with 3 other nights (cheaper rate) for a total point value of 138. While not the best use of my points, some of them were banked, so they had to be used anyway. i wouldn't stay here on cash (can't afford to), so this was a fun thing for me to do. Your 9yo might like the pool at DLH. If you stay in the Sierra Tower (don't know it's new name, it's the one closest to DTD), you can get a great view. We stayed there in 2002 and it was wonderful (although I was with 2 teens and we did not swim that trip). Do your research and you'll pick what's best for you. Have fun!

| With a nine-year-old, I would definitely recommend the Disneyland Hotel. We had a fantastic time here. The resort is stuffed with Disney memorabilia and often there was a Disney character on hand in the lobby to meet and greet guests. The Neverland pool is terrific and we particularly loved all the little Disney touches in the room - the light up Tinkerbell wallpaper border, castle headboards, Mickey hand bathroom light fixtures, etc. Our room was only a standard view but we still had a great view of the nightly fireworks. Were I to stay there again, I think I'd opt to stay concierge because of all the little perks and especially the concierge lounge where you not only get a tremendous view of the fireworks but the musical fireworks soundtrack is also piped in. The Disneyland Hotel is also the closest hotel to the monorail station. Joy

| We like both the Disneyland hotel, and usually choose that one for the savings on points...and the Grand Californian. We would never have stayed there (GC) if it weren't for DVC because we, also, don't have the cash to stay in a hotel that's that expensive. Grand Cali also has a great pool with a water slide at the kids pool. My kids love being able to walk out of the hotel and right into DCA park...and vice-versa. Like someone else said, the theme at GC is much like the Wilderness Lodge at WDW...very woodsy, rustic but classy. Disneyland Hotel has a Disney Theme...no other way to say that one. If you have points to splurge, I'd go with GC...and if you really can't decide...you can split your stay with a couple ofnights in each hotel...we did that once too, and it was fun! I'd stay at DH first, then...because you do get a little bit spoiled at the GC. |

| First trip? I'd defintely recommend GCH. It was such a magical first trip for us. There's nothing like walking out of the lobby right into DCA. Because of saving $$$, I decided on the cheapest (city) view for our room. Sometimes I regret it, but then I remember all the extra money we had for souveneirs. But since you're using points, I'd check into the amount of points needed for theme park view. We had that the second time our entire family went (and used DVC points). It was so magical looking out the window and seeing DCA. I would watch it close down at night and come to life in the morning. Very magical indeed.
