Hilton vs Anabella

I can get a room for $25 less a night at the Anabella, but the Hilton seems like a better 'resort'.

Any experiences with either- or better yet, both?

We always stay at Hilton if we can wherever we go! Their resorts have never let us down.

We stayed in the Anabella. Our first room had a couple issues...a very loud rattling air conditioner, it was the size of a shoe box and located right next door to the housekeeping staff lunch room...lets just say that we had a rough night with the loud air conditioner, then were awakened by 7 house keeping staff members who were literally leaning against our door and talking loudly. We were moved to a great room, and were very satisfied with our stay from then on.

I have read many similar experiences about Anabella - not great at first, but if moved, people have tended to enjoy it. Seems like the upgraded rooms are nice, but there may still be many rooms of a low quality. Might check out reviews on TripAdvisor.com. Good luck!

We stayed at the Hilton and really enjoyed it. We were lucky enough to get a corner room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the park. Our first night there we sat and watched the fireworks from our room. It was really neat.

The staff was also very friendly.

Oops, I should've qualified my post; the first room was nice, tiny, but well decorated and clean as a whistle. It was the location and a noisy air conditioner that made this room undesirable. Our friends stayed in a family "suite" and it was quite nice! Over all our experience was good there, just a bit bumpy the first night!

Anaheim Hilton is one of my favorite places to stay in Anaheim! They have an extended Starbucks in the lobby that has more food items. They also have a restaurant, lounge. There is plenty of parking once you figure out the huge parking structure. The rooms are large and clean and redecorated. The ART picks up outside the front. The service and staff have always been outstanding!

Well, we are booked at the Anabella for October in a Mission Suite which as 1 king bed, 1 sofa bed and a sleep sofa... so 3 beds. I hate noisy hotels, but fingers crossed that it will be okay. The selling point for us was that it was very close to the park and a good price for the scale of hotel it is. (Considering I spent my last visit at Motel 6.)

Have you decided where you are staying? And when are you going? If you stay at the Anabella I'd especially like to hear how it was. Oh, and the DL PassPorter does state to be aware that the Anabella does have a handful of extra-small rooms.

I took the advice and when to TripAdvisor. Unless you are desertfairy and left a review, someone else complained about a loud air conditioner. Guess I'll be bringing my ear plugs.

I've always liked the bigger rooms - we had one where the second bed was in a nook (so, out of the way) for the DD (no DS at that point) and one where there was a teeny tiny bedroom with a daybed in it and a door (so we could let our infant sleep while we watched TV without as much worry about the noise).

However! It is not as close as it appears. Since it is on Katella, you have to walk to the convention center and cross into the parking lot and catch a tram to the plaza. Last week, the Lion King parking lot was closed and I remarked to DH that it was good we weren't expecting to catch a tram (we drove instead of walked for the first time in, well, ever).

If the lot is still closed, the option is to go past Tiffy's (restaurant next door on the corner) and up Disney Way to the Grand Californian (only if DCA is already open) or Downtown Disney for access to the parks. All in all, it's not a bad walk, just tiring at the end of the day.

I hope I'm not discouraging you, neighbor (*waves in the general direction of Pahrump*), but wanted you to know. It's a hotel at motel prices, but we changed to a motel on Harbor for walking convenience (Best Western Park Place, if you're interested).

I decided to book a room at the HILTON because it is a sidewalk walk to the convention center, where DH will be working.

There was a fantastic rate at the PORTOFINO just around the corner... like $60 through Orbitz PLUS a $50 gas card for a three night stay....
I would love to try the HILTON, and with a AAA discount, it was about $100/night

I asked DH who at first was all about the savings, but later said that he really wanted to stay at the HILTON. go figure; who would have guessed DH is more high maintenance than me?

Ahem...I believe the phrase you are looking for is: "well-taken-care-of."

No, your not discouraging. I've hung onto the reservations. The reviews are so 50/50, I figured we'd give it a chance. And, I don't think we'll be walking to the park. My mom's foot has been acting up, so I'm sure we'll bus or drive it to save her the extra walking.
