What can you tell me about Motel 6 Anaheim Maingate

Here is a link to one of there website Welcome to Motel 6 Anaheim CA Disneyland Maingate pet friendly economy lodging Knotts Berry Farm hotel

I put in some dates 2 different times to get an idea on their price and one time I got $74 a night and another time $49 a night. These are the prices that I am looking for.
It's also a Good Neighbor DisneyLand Hotel. Also it has a shuttle to the DisneyLand resort. This seems like the perfect hotel for little me

If anyone has stayed here, how often does this shuttle come and about how long does it take to get you to the park ? Also does it get to to the parks before it opens and does the last shuttle take to back to your hotel after the parks close ? I believe I saw that it's about $3 a day to use.

I will be looking into a lot of hotels and this is one of them.

The Disneyland shuttles are mostly run by ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation. The do each route about every 15-20 minutes. Each shuttle stops at several hotels/motels.

Remember to buy you shuttle pass at your hotel.
1. The price goes down some when you buy multiple days.
2. If you buy it from the shuttle driver, it is good for one- one way trip. If you buy the pass, is good for as many rides as you want per day (including... get on a shuttle to another hotel if there is something there for you. I attended a convention and stayed at Red Roof Inn. I took the shuttle to DL, and then caught the shuttle to the convention hotel. )
3. If you need a 'accessible' transport, they call and dispatch a special one to carry you (same price) if your's isn't equipped.

I haven't personally stayed at that hotel, but usually, if it is a Good Neighbor hotel, they must be doing something right to be recommended by Disney.

As Don mentioned, the shuttle is more than likely the Anaheim Resort Transit shuttle (ART). You can purchase a one, two, three or five day pass . . . the prices are:

One-day = $3
Two-day = $6
Three- day = $8
Five-day = $12

If you know how many days worth of shuttle usage you will need before you go on your rip, you can actually order the passes online. (You can also find "kiosk" machines at certain hotels where you can buy the one, two and five day passes) Or, as Don also mentioned, you can purchase them from your hotel (since it seems the Motel 6 is an ART participating hotel. )

It is true that you can't buy the passes on the bus . . . if you board without a pass, you must pay the driver exact change of $3 PER RIDE. It is a far better deal to have the all day passes.

I believe the buses start running at 7am and stop running at midnight.

Here's the link to the ART website for you!

I stayed at this motel in April. The only upsetting thing that happened there was not being able to check in when we (hubby and I) arrived. If you book online, it DOES NOT tell you what check in time is. You have to call the motel and double check. On the plus side, they did store our luggage for us in a locked room. As for security in that room... They don't tag your luggage or check ID or have any security to make sure no one is stealing bags. So, you leave it at your own risk.

But, the motel was very clean and very quiet. I was afraid that being on the ground floor we'd hear footsteps above us at night. We didn't hear a thing!

Book your stay online. It is cheaper. If you call to reserve, they will even tell you it is cheaper to book online. (And don't forget your paperwork with your reservation #!--Another story that happened while lobby waiting.) If you have questions about the motel itself, such as adjoining rooms, amenities, you will need to contact the motel. The toll free number takes you to a call center and they can't help with those sort of questions. They can give you that phone # though.

I won't repeat the transit info, but check for free passes when you check in. The way the front desk clerk explained it was that the ART gives them free passes and they do what they want with them. We got lucky when we asked about the buses. She handed us passes that were good for a week and we were only staying two nights! Buses fill up quick, so know that if you can stand and ride, you probably will be.

And you'll want to take the bus. You can hoof it to the parks, but it is a jaunt. After a day of walking, the last thing you'll want to do (or at least I did) was want to take the long walk back to the motel.

Oh, we booked a business king because we like the big bed. You get a huge desk in your room as well (for laptop and work use.) It was great because that's were we ate when we ate in the room. This room also comes with a mini-fridge/freezer. While waiting in the lobby, someone was trying to get a fridge in his room and they couldn't do it. Don't know if they didn't have any or if they don't do that unless it comes with the room. Just an FYI if a this amenity is important to you.

Hmm... can't think of anything else. We didn't use the pool or the laundry room. There is free coffee and beverages in the morning. No food. The lobby bathroom was disgusting as there is only one. It's kept locked and the front desk person as to let you in, but still only one bathroom and not enough cleaning.

Anaheim Resort Transit

Thanks Everyone

I went to the Anaheim Resort Transit website. I will be staying for like 2 weeks or so, I will check out the free bus pass when I check in to my resort. If the bus runs every 15-20 minutes that will be perfect. Also if the bus starts running at 7 am until midnight, that would be perfect. I might have asked the girl at the resort what time the buses start and stop running and I think she also said 7 am until midnight. Also standing on the bus will not be a problem. I might also take the bus to a grocery store since this will be such a long vacation.

I checked the rooms and I like the one with the Business King Bed that has a microwave and a fridge. It $5 extra a night, but even if I only used the fridge to keep my water bottles cold it will be worth the extra money. Also I do plan to get some groceries that I can keep in the fridge and heat up and at times when I am eating in DisneyLand I might have leftovers put in a box that I can put in the fridge when I get back to my hotel so I can heat it up later. I will for sure ask them about the fridge and microwave since these will be important to me. Also when I talked to a girl at the resort over the phone I told her that I was 6 foot 3 inches tall and the girl said that the King Bed is longer than the other beds.

The girl I talked to was at the hotel that I want to stay at. I called the number to the hotel itself. I believe this number was on the website. There is a good chance that I will be calling them again with more questions.

It just so happens I was bed shopping the other day and learned something about King beds. Eastern King gives you extra width, but is standard when it comes to length. The California King takes that width and puts it on for the length. So, I'm sure that the kings at motels/hotels are Eastern. Easier to find sheets for!
