Super 8 on Katella??

I've booked a trip to DL (my first time!!) for the end of the month and I chose the Super 8 on Katella solely on price and the pics of the hotel. I have not seen any reviews on either here or the DIS.

Has anyone stayed there. It's proximity to the new shopping center seems to make it pretty good. Also does anyone seem to think I'll need an ART ticket if staying there?

I'll be on an ECV, so as long as the sidewalks and crosswalks are good, I would think less than a mile will be fine on the ECV. (I scoot around Fort Wilderness on my ECV and it's a mile from one end to the other, so I'm hoping not to fool with the bus.)

We stayed there back in 2002 and it was fine. It definately isn't luxury but has clean, comfortable rooms and had an outdoor spa near the pool. There didn't seem to be a crowd of teenagers making noise until the wee hours so we were pretty impressed. The shuttle to disney only makes a few stops and then you are there but we chose to walk in the mornings and get the shuttle back in the evenings when our DD was then just 3yrs and very weary...
We had a 2nd storey room and didn't have any issues with the stairs except they were a little narrow for moving luggage-LOL!
Hope you have a wonderful trip!

We stay there often when we go up for a weekend. It is a good motel, located next to a new shopping center with a really great restaurant, Bubba Gumps. You have gotta eat there at least once. GOOD CHOICE. You'll like it.
I also have an ECV, a three wheel REVO, and it 'fit' in the room without any problems.
Enjoy your DL visit.

I stayed there one night, after a business trip, in December 2005. I have no complaints. The room was clean. The staff was courteous and its a pretty short walk to the main entrance.

Cheers
Craig
