| Does monorail go to DLH? When we went to DLR two years ago, the monorail was closed. Is it open again? Does it take you to the DLH? Thanks for your help!

| No, the monorail does not go to the DLH. Here is the official word from the Disneyland site: You may board in Downtown Disney District or in Tomorrowland

| The monorail takes you to the other side of Downtown Disney, with about a block or 2 more walking to reach the DLH. So if you are staying at any of the Disney properties, it cuts down slightly on the walking (if you happen to be close to Tomorrowland). However, when we are going to DLH for Goofy's Kitchen, if we are coming from our hotel (about as far away on Harbor as DLH is the other direction), we walk straight through the plaza and DTD. It doesn't save us much time and walking to enter the park and work our way to Tomorrowland just to hop on the monorail. It's sort of like parking lots. I could go around a person, park 5 spaces down and be at the door before they got that close up space they were waiting for. We can walk to DLH more quickly than going through all that. Phew, that was a lot for a simple question. So, to make a short story long, if you are in the park, on the Tomorrowland side, take the monorail. If you are on the Adventureland side, you might as well hoof it out - it'll probably be faster.

| The monorail station is right next to the Rainforest Cafe in DTD, so it is a bit of a walk to the DLH from the station.

| Why did they do this to the monorail? Change the route, I mean.

| The route never changed. It's the same monorail it's always been. What changed is that the monorail station used to be surrounded by shops, the old Monorail Cafe, and the large "courtyard" area where the little toy boats and arcade by the "wharf" used to be. That whole area was replaced by the ESPN Zone/Rainforest Cafe end of DTD. You used to exit the monorail and feel like you were "on" hotel property, even though you still had to walk past all the shops and the little wharf area before you got to the actual hotel buildings. Now, you exit that same station and have to walk past Rainforest, ESPN Zone, and that same courtyard to get to the hotel buildings. I remember at first feeling the same way...why did they change the monorail? But if you think about it, they never touched the tracks...it's just that the area surrounding the station looks so different, hehe! |

| The DTD station's location has never changed. : It is still in the same spot as when it was (once upon a time) the Disneyland Hotel station. The only difference is that they built DTD around it in '01. ![]()

| Ah, I see. So basically, the monorail would be good to use if you wanted to head to that end of DTD? It still picks up in Tomorrowland, right? (Just there in April and I can't remember.)

| You are correct, Lilliana. Tomorrowland to the West end of DTD and back. You have to have a resort ticket to ride the monorail.

| A resort ticket? Meaning, you have to be staying at one of the Disney properties in order to ride the monorail?

| By resort, I meant Disneyland "Resort" (though even that is incorrect, it has to be a DL ticket or a hopper). Sorry for the confusion!
