| Are you talking walking distance? Katella is closer, because it's right up against DCA - you only have to walk that distance north (up either Disneyland Dr or Harbor) to get to the entrance. On Ball, you have a distance of land and then you still have to walk the distance of DL park south to get to the entrance. There's also a freeway (I-5) or a curve on DL Dr (creating more walking) to contend with coming from Ball. I'd say Katella is, in most circumstances, a better bet. If you're talking driving distance, we'd need to look at cross streets...

| Actually Ball Road and Disneyland Drive is adjacent to the big parking structure. So, if your hotel is close, it's probably about a 3-minute walk to the parking lot trams from that intersection or about a 15-minute (nicely landscaped) walk to the front of the parks. I know the Sheraton is really close, and there's also a Day's Inn at that intersection.

| One of the most controling factors connected with the rates charged by the hotel motels surrounding DLR is the Anaheim Convention Center. If there is a convention going on all of the rates go way up. As an example, Super 8 on Katella usually charges about 50 to 60 dollars per day without a convention but that rate can go up to 80 to 100 dollars with a convention in town. We used to stay at the Holiday Inn on Walnut but they increased their rate to be around 100 dollars. On some stays we will stay at Ramada Inn Maingate as their rate is about 60 to 70 and a very short walk to the main gate. Any place on Ball would require a fairly long walk but you might also check to see if the ART bus system serves the place you are staying. the daily rate is not too bad and they will drop you off a very very short walk from the main gate, like a 1 to 3 minute walk. Hope all of the information you are getting here is helpful to you. |
