Question To swim, or not to swim...

Hi everyone!

We're going to be at the DLH next week (2/18-2/22) and were wondering if we should take our bathing suits. Do you think it will be warm enough to swim?
(It's our first time. Can you tell? LOL)

Definitely check the weather report as it gets closer. We've been having some crazy rainstorms in So Cal. Today, it hailed 3 separate times at my house (I live about 30 miles east of DL) and it was cooooooooold...I'm talking in the 40's at 5pm. There's rain forecast again later this week and who knows what's going to happen next week.

I really hope it clears up for your trip. Do keep in mind that the temps can fluctuate quite a bit from week to week, so there's still hope that you'll have swimming weather by the time you get here. I'd just check the long range forecast right before you leave.

We live further south than Dlandmom2 does from DL, something like 95 miles, and down here the weather has been VERY wet and VERY cold BUT.......this is Southern California after all. It is hard to tell what next week may have in store. Here is my suggestion. How much room do your swim suits take up a suitcase???? Can't be much. I'd say pack them anyway and if the weather permits, you have them. If the weather is not so good, oh well, you tried. GO FOR IT. One never knows about the weather out here this time of the year. We always pack our swim suits. Don't always use them.

Thanks to everyone who's responded!
I went ahead and packed them just in case! (**fingers crossed**)

I think it says that it may rain the first couple of days, but who knows! They've been known to be wrong!

I have been reading the story of a famous(In certain circles) swimmer who swims in just unbelieveable cold water!!! She has swam in the Bering Straits for example. Compared to her I think most pool water is fairly hot. She is a amazing woman--name is Lynn Cox!!! Sorry this doesn't answer your question but I just had to get my two cents in.

Anything can happen and you can always soak in the jacuzzi. We did that in December even though it was very cold - but the soak was heavenly!!

Enjoy!

Another thing to keep in mind is that all of the pools at the DLH are heated, and kept at 80 degrees or higher. The Neverland pool usually feels like bathwater!

I think you made the right decision to bring them; they really don't take up a lot of valuable space in the suitcase. We brought ours, when we were there 2/15 - 2/23 last year. We never used them, but we saw plenty of other guests swimming at the resort pool.

Ugh! You're lucky you didn't have my experience in the spa last week. I went down to soak because my body was just screaming at me and I needed a good jacuzzi. But when I got down there is was full of little kids swimming in it! I stayed for a little bit but there was no relaxation in it. I went back upstairs and took a hot shower instead.

There were lots of people swimming and using the spa at the DLH between 2/11-2/14.
