Planning on going to dl august 2010. Saw that homewood suites offers free compliemnatry reakfast both hot and cold food, lite dinner meals with beer and wine mon-thurs for FREE!!! Has anyone satyed there or heard things about it. i stayed in homewood suites eberytime excpet this past trip to wdw so i am familiar. Also we are doing other things in that area so we will have a rental car. So proximity isn't that big of a deal
We've stayed there twice. Really enjoyed it because of the separate bedroom / living room. My kids were littler then so it was nice to put them to sleep in a different room while mommy & daddy stayed up a bit later and watched tv and ate the complimentary popcorn.
The breakfast was okay - buffet style, but too many little kids trying to carry bowls of cereal with way too much milk in them. I usually left the kids in the room with daddy, and took the tray down and brought toast, cereal, coffee etc back.
We didn't partake in much of the free light meals - we were too busy at the parks. I suggest driving to the park if you have a car. We bought our tickets thru AAA and that included free parking at the Mickey & Friends garage. I found it much faster than the shuttle bus - we had buses pass us up because they were already full.
we bought into the Disney Vacation CLub so we don't stay at the Homewood Suites anymore (unless we run out of points for the DH). I do miss the two rooms, the mini-kitchen etc. It is well worth the money - and I did find discounts too.
How close is the Homewood suites to DL? Thinking about going to DL if I can tear myself away from WDW one day I love Homewood Suites, I've stayed at them in Seattle, and thought they had a great breakfast, and their "light" evening reception was pretty much a full dinner, with salad, rolls, and entree, deserts, wow! And the wine was nice too!! Great value.

Homewood Suites is about 1.5 miles south of the DLR right on Harbor Blvd.
