[quote=HeatherD;2831603]We always stay at the BWPP, but I can't imagine doing the free breakfast at Capt Kidd's anymore. It's repulsive, IMO, unless they've done some MAJOR modifications in the past year or so....

Yes, the breakfast is really nothing to write home about although I think repulsive could give the wrong impression because it was always clean etc. The items might not be premium but it seems fresh.

I, too, am used to staying in fancier hotels and would normally be had a higher star hotel but you just can't beat this one for the location and I don't mind saving money in this economy either.

I am staying at the Ramada Maingate in September. Although I have never stayed there, I hear good things about it. My first priority was finding a hotel very close to the parks. This one was recommended.

Great choice. We stay there all of the time, not onlt because of location but because it is such a nice place.

We stayed at the Ramada Inn Maingate earlier this year.
We had the misfortune of being on the other side of the wall from the laundry room and our AC unit was like..right into it so we could hear the housekeeping talk while trying to nap in the afternoon, but other than that it was a great motel
Ok, it had some cleanliness issues in the bathroom (under the sink was dirty),
but for the price it was pretty good deal.
5 mins of walking, a few minutes waiting for the light.

We stayed at Park Vue Inn a couple of times. Prices were reasonable and it is directly across the street from the gate.
There is a Ihop on their parking lot and tons of eating places. In fact there are so many places to stay right there on Harbor.
Here is the link: http://www.parkvueinn.com/

Out of the two which would be the more recommend Howard Johnson or the Park Vue Inn?

I consider HoJo's a "better" chain, but Park Vue is closer and not bad - which is more important - a better hotel or really good location?
