| Please Help Us Decide on a Hotel We're going to DL in late October (20-24) and need help choosing a place to stay. We won't have a car (using Super Shuttle from SNC) so we must be with in walking distance. We don't want to have to walk any further than 5-7 minutes (at a relaxed pace, no speed demons here...) I will have a 1 yr old (maybe I'm crazy) so I need to easily get back to the hotel for naps. We stayed at PP in '07, but their price increases put them out of our budget range unless they do some super deal. There will be 6 in our family reunion party. Here is what we need: When should we make reservations? What hotel with in that walking distance (please don't recommend any others because it just won't happen When might Disney put out deals for their hotels for that time period? Thank you so much for your help!

| Would you be interested in hotels that have shuttles so walking is out of the equation? Some of the hotels around have free shuttles.

| Bret's Disneyland Lodging LinkMap Look at the hotels (motels) between Anaheim Inn and Camelot Inn for a short walk to the front gate. Park Vue Inn is pretty much dead on with the crosswalk leading to DLR, so the closer to that hotel, the better. I'd make your reservations as soon as possible. I already have reservations for October, November and December. My choice is Desert Inn & Stes. It's not luxury, but I like the family suites. 4 queen beds, 2 bathrooms. I just haven't found a better price for what we get. Most of these hotels are more like "motels", but I don't mind.

| We like the Howard Johnson's. It's just on the border of your walking limit so you would want to try to find out how far it is to walk. It take us about ten minutes. Two adults, a six year old, and a stroller. The Candy Cane Inn is also nice. It's also closer and has a nice breakfast. It's also more expensive. I have stayed at all the hotels on Motel Row along Harbor. Ok maybe not all of them but alot, and those are the only two I recommend to friends.

| We loved the Candy Cane Inn. Easy walk. Plus, they have a free shuttle to and from the Inn. The rooms are beautiful, and there is a free continental breakfast each morning. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

| My DW and I stay at the Ramada Inn Maingate when we drive up there. We park the Jeep and leave it there. From motel room to the DL maingate the travel time is just about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how you 'hit' the traffic light. There is a Tony Roma's next door, Denny's and Ihop are just up the street between the motel and the maingate. Down the street and around the corner, about a 10 to 15 minute walk, is Bubba Gumps and PF Changs along with a few other places to eat at the Garden Walk. I would take it that with a young one you would have a stroller so these may not be all that bad of a walk. We also stay at the Super 8 Motel which is next door to the Garden Walk. |

| We stay (every year) at the Best Western Park Place Inn, which is on the crosswalk into the plaza. We've stayed (once) at the Ramada Main Gate. It was nice, but it was further away, so we go with BWPP.

| We just left Candy Cane Inn! Free breakfast, free shuttle service every 30 min or more often if needed, nice rooms, we even walked one day to the park, beautiful landscaping, and heated pool. Only problem is I think they will only sleep up to 5 with a deluxe room. Hope that helps. |

| I like the Anaheim Fairfield Inn, The Candy Cane Inn and the Best Western Park Place Inn. All within easy walking distance, clean and comfortable. The current pacakge offers are out for travel through September so October shouldnt be far behind.

| Let me ask DH where we stayed. It had a shuttle, but the huge perk was free breakfast. Not just waffles, it had custom omellettes, pancakes, waffles, french toast, eggs how ever you wanted them, bacon, sausage, cereal, muffins, bagels, ANYTHING you could possibly want. It was also VERY affordable and they had NO issues with having 5 in a room. |

| BEst Western Park Place... Always! It is actually right accross the street (Honest). They are very quiet, clean and the best staff this side of Disney.

| Well, we are staying at the Ramada Inn Maingate for our 3 day 2 night visit to DLR come this July 17th. We always try to stay here because they are within walking distance and we don't need to worry about driving. Plus they have a great continntal breakfast and the hotel staff are super friendly. |

| We just got back from our third stay at the Best Western Park Place. It really is the closest walk. They have a free continental breakfast (not a huge selection but enough to get you through the morning.) The staff is helpful like was mentioned and it has been consistently clean. It is so nice to be able to walk right over there. I highly recommend it.

But, a free continental breakfast doesn't make or break our decision, the location is too good! We've realized the value in making a grocery run for breakfast foods (rooms have fridge) and we'll all munch on something (cereal, fruit, donuts, etc) while waiting for various people in our party to get ready. The variety isn't much different than what they have at CK, but the quality is much better and we're ready to go when we're ready to go....no extra stops on our way to our Happy Place!
